really ?they only won 2 sbs and had many moments against PB say two sbs where they choked, thats not a let down? odd Jerrys 90s team won 3 sbs..thats more. Just in case you dont remember and IF the sb and the sb win is the only non . how many nfccg did Landry and white fall short, all of them? the catch, that wasnt a gut punch? a let down?

i understand what you are saying but still that crock on how the goal post was moved because of all the winning seasons but if it were the same measurements, they weren't winning seasons because they fell short in the biggest of games.i thought the Regular season wasn't the measuring stick..
seems lie it is technically the Jonses did more for this franchise then the old régime if sbs were the only measuring stick.

From 1966 to 1982 Landry's teams played in 12 NFL or NFC championship games. Yes, he only won 2 SBs but he also won 5 NFC Championships and 13 Division titles in 20 years. Stack that up against what the Cowboys have done in the last 25 years.

Just do what I do and expect them to lose the game but hope for the best.. This is honestly where I'm at with the Cowboys.

That is a good strategy, that way if they lose the game the tv remote doesnt end up being thrown across the room, LOL.

Just enjoy the ride, why worry about things you can't control....if it drops, it drops.

Exactly..............it is amazing how much time people spend on worrying about things they cannot control.

It is a good lesson for life, not just football, dont spend time on "what if" thinking, especially if it is something you have absolutely no control over, the only thing it accomplishes is giving you anxiety.

Good point.

During the playoffs they really should try to do something somewhat radical to minimize the possibility of players ending up on the Covid list.

This is another reason I am against a bye week. No telling what ‘treasures’ some of the fellas will bring back even with just a few days extra personal time.

Call me paranoid, but having watched the last 20+ years of Cowboys football, something is going to go wrong. You know it's coming.

They had better start isolating the entire defensive line away from society for the next four weeks or so. Eliminate that possibility completely.
Forget the entire defensive line. Better start isolating the entire team until after the SB.

Unfortunately we are dealing with young men and a couple players not paying attention to safety on New Year's Eve could take this team into a tailspin at the wrong time

That said if I'm McCarthy I clamp this team down tighter than a bull's *** and make everybody accountable for their actions because we have a real chance to do something this year and it would be a terrible shame to have it ruined by a couple people having to go out and party

Get out ahead of it Mike before it becomes a problem

Lol! I think most Cowboys fans are cautiously optimistic but are fearful for what awaits.

Keep on waiting by your damn self. So much misery during a time of joy is a foolish opinion.

failure

not enough Lombardi's, sorry if and i said if thats the barometer, the measuring stick, finishing #1 that it that's the goal correct?
,,no one's lowering the greatness of Landry but don't get it twisted Jonses teams nearly won 4 in a row..that's a fact that one of the best stretches of championship football ever seen here..this isnt about the regular season if it were we would be talking about the last 25 years as failure so throw that out,,its about SBs and Landry lost many of them he should have won. That is the goal is it not?

he was bested like the Bills the bills don't get to brag about 4 in row that led to zero SBs.

thats my point cant prop up an era and talk trash to another when neither won enough championships..facts are jerry has 3 in 32 years and Landry had 2 in 30 years. It is all that we seem to talk about.so jerry wins..:))

I love all the eras of my Cowboys but wont allow this nonsense to keep destroying what jerrys done..he did bring 3 rings here and if thats the goal, again he wins. Im team fan not an era fan the blue and silver make me float with pride all of it good or bad no matter the era.

I don’t think it’s possible to do too much to try and avoid the Covid crush, but I think we may be the most proactive team in the league right now. Can’t remember which player it was who posted a ‘we’re not having family gatherings during the holidays’, but it’s incredible how many people still blow back at taking health and safety precautions.

You mean Jimmy Johnson's teams nearly won four in a row, but as we all know they didn't, just like Landry's teams sometimes failed to win the SB. Jimmy had, what, a 5 year run? And as soon as Jimmy left (because of Jerry), the team fell apart and hasn't won since. Would you say the 2007 Cowboys failed to achieve expectations losing to the Giants in their first playoff game that year? I repeat, in a 17 year period Landry had his Cowboys in 12 NFC Championships and 5 Super Bowls. Expecting to win the SB every year is not a reasonable measurement. But contending for a Super Bowl is. And during Landry's years the Cowboys were in contention for 20 consecutive seasons. So getting back to the original intent of this thread, during the Landy years there was always reason to be optimistic, while today, after 25 years of failure, there is reason why fans expect another shoe to drop.

Its Jerrys team regardless he did the hiring. jimmy wouldn't have been the coach, tired of reminding folks. Jerry was smart enough to hire his friend and ex-teammate, was no coincidence and thats all his credit.

all gms and owners get credit for the hiring the right people to do the job therefore they are Jerrys sbs..got it.. there's no jimmy without jerry..thats where it started. there no way to reorder it and its tiresome explaining it to those who dont see how business works.
