I don't think you can automatically write off Minnesota beating Green Bay. Divisional games are always tough. Even though Minnesota can't catch Green Bay, don't think for a second that game won't be important to them. And while I wouldn't be surprised if the Vikings were in the head coach market next year, lots of coaches and players will be fighting to win that game for their jobs.

It's an uphill battle, but they still have to play the game.

A bye would be nice but I don't want is a Sunday game in Philly followed by a Saturday wildcard game although I think the NFL will make the Dallas playoff game on a Sunday due to ratings.

Philadelphia clinches playoff berth with:

  1. PHI win + MIN loss or tie + NO loss or tie OR
  2. PHI win + MIN loss or tie + SF win or tie OR
  3. PHI tie + MIN loss + NO loss + ATL loss or tie OR
  4. PHI tie + MIN loss + NO tie + ATL loss or tie + SF win or tie

I guess you want to win out. But let’s say they sit the starters the next two weeks (you basically get a 2 week bye guaranteed and better draft picks). Then again you probably want to avoid playing the Rams or Bucs in round 1, but if you want to win the Super Bowl you’ll have to go through them anyways then Green Bay likely the next game.

If Dallas wins out the first playoff game will be easier but they likely get the Rams or the Bucs in round 2 and Green Bay/ Rams or Bucs after that so you end up playing the same teams. Maybe you hope Green Bay get seated with the Bucs so you only have to play one of them. It doesn’t seam to me it matters other then you get better draft picks if you rest the starters.

you dont want a 2 game RS bye the last game yes got to be smart but i want to beat AZ to beat an 10-5 team to show we can.also its revenge game as they seem to be proud of the win against our backups last year.. bring it!

Play hard his week go win and then last game be smart try and win with Rush and Clements and backups on the Ol..we could win that game with handful of our stars sitting.

So much to be determined. Dallas needs to take care of business and win the last two games. Then we worry about who we play. Although slight, there still is a chance we get a 1st round bye especially if Green Bay loses to Minnesota on Sunday night. And if we win out, then any three way tie with other division winners puts us at a higher seed i.e. 2nd or 3rd.

The only team I am rooting for to win is DALLAS period. Lets win the last two games and then worry about the playoffs.

If we win the next two, we are a 1-2 seed depending on Green Bay. We likely get the 2

Philly is tied with SF. So we’re going to get SF or Philly
Or we get New Orleans
if they beat the Panthers and Falcons and
if Philly wins this week and then loses to Dallas

Rams would need to beat 49ers in week 18 too

So still pretty open
if Dallas wins out it will probably be either 49ers, Eagles, or Saints
if we lose one then add in the Cards too

I don't want a meaningless final game. We've seen this before. We rest our players, and then come out rusty for the playoffs. Same old same old.

So whats the difference between sitting our players and getting a first round bye in your opinion? They both would result in players resting for 2 weeks before they play their first playoff game.

Good point, and smart thing might be to do just that.
But I doubt dallas HC is smart enough or jones boys would allow that.

According to the Philly radio station, all that has to happen is a Philly win and a 49ers win over Houston and Philly gets the 7th seed.

the only difference is psychological.
Like many fans here say no lets go win these last two games, some players might feel same way.
Some might want to rest some might not.
Sometimes teams seem to play not at high level after resting for a week or two.
Sometimes they play great.
The wash game has dallas players on cloud 9, but if they lose to cards or eagles, or say both lol, all that goes away , and is replaced by
lack of confidence etc.
It does get complicated at the end lol.

well phil has 7 losses so does SF
minn,NO , Atl?, have 8 losses
so with only 2 games to go,if phil wins this sunday, they still have 7 losses.
if any of the 3 lose they have 9 losses, and with 1 game to go they can no longer tie phil. or SF
So big games for SF and phil this coming sunday, win and your in type games.

One whole playoff win difference!
2 playoff wins needed instead of 3 to get to the Super Bowl?
Massive

I'm ok with a meaningless game this season, almost like treating it as a bye week. If someone gets injured in that final game, then we will all have wished for a "meaningless" game with many starters able to sit. Getting Tyron, Zeke and Pollard, and maybe Schultz, healthy for the playoffs sounds great to me.
