Once you leave comedy central and talk football you expose yourself.

Def End Starters Around League:
-Chargers Justin Jones, 1 sack (18 solo tackles, 60.7 PFF)
-Eagles Derek Barnett, 2 sacks (27 solo tackles, 62.5 PFF)
-Vikings Patrick Jones II, 0 sacks (6 solo tackles, 49.8 PFF)
-Lions Michael Brockers, 1 sack (30 solo tackles, 44.1 PFF)
-Lions Nick Williams, 1 sack (18 solo tackles, 55.7 PFF)
-Jags Malcom Brown, 2 sacks (32 solo tackles, 45.8 PFF)
-Jets Bryce Huff, 3 sacks (9 solo tackles, 60.6 PFF)
-Falcons Jonathan Bullard, 0 sacks (16 solo tackles, 56.7 PFF)
-Seahawks Kerry Hyder, 1 sack (20 solo tackles, 56.4 PFF)

In rotational role, Armstrong 4 sacks (21 solo tackles, 63.9 PFF)

Now get back to me on the career numbers of those players. See how many have 6 sacks and 5 TFLs in 4 years.

This will actually be proven when the stiff leaves Dallas and is never a starter in the league if not by injury replacement.

One of my favorite role players on the team. Special teams beast but now finally getting more chances to get on the field. I am not so sure he will be expensive to retain - the coaches obviously like him. From the 2018 class, the futures of Connor Williams, Gallup, and Schultz are in doubt as they all have legitimate starting production. Armstrong has always produced as a reserve player so I think he could be brought back on an affordable deal in the same role.

He's our Jim Jeffcoat and Tony Tolbert of our generation. Solid roll players.

Tolbert was a starter and a pro bowler.

And Jeffcoat registered double digit sack seasons 3 of first 4 seasons and even led team in sacks when he came off the bench during 90's championship era.

I WISH Armstrong was either Jeffcoat or Tolbert.

Not talking in talent, talking in role player position.

Free agent DE who looks ok? Someone will pay too much for him, and I hope it isn't us.

Thanks for reminding me about Basham. I love the 2 year free agent "prove it" contract, so we get a cheap year after the guy has proven it.

PFF scored Armstrong/Basham all but identically at 63.9/63.8. Golston at 60.6 already.

I expect Gregory and Armstrong are gone, and we go forward with Bashem and Golston playing run downs, and Parsons rushing on pass downs. Pending the draft.

I think we're heading toward more of a 3-4/5-2 look, with bigger DE/LB tweeners as OLBs, but a S/LB tweener as one of the ILBs. Could be a better fit for Gregory as an OLB, and we move Dlaw. I don't see us keeping both.

Osa seems like the kind of guy you pick as one of the DEs for that. And Bohanna as the NT. Put a little more weight on Golston, and he's the other DE of a 3 man front. And then Cox as the S/ILB coverage tweener. Sure looks like we drafted that 3-4/5-2.
At least we didn’t sign Bud Dupree. Whew.

Bit of an unsung dude this year. With all the injuries we have had at DE, he has put some solid starts. And he has pretty solid as a rotational player when the starts are healthy.

Fun fact, we have only given up 20 points in 1 or the 5 games Armstrong has started

Is DA some great player? No of course not.

But said it before, he's exactly the type of player Belichick would like. Big, strong, not the fastest but plays with power, always plays hard, good on ST, has some versatility.

Again, he's not some star and it's hardly the end of the world if you lose him, but I think if anything he's underrated.

I said: adequate starter.
Never said "impactful starter".

Armstrong would start for about 10 teams.

About the only to Cowboy to get a sack yesterday as Murray seemed to elude the more expensive talented bunch …..but what the heck.
