I think that’s how most cowboys fans feel right now

Remove me from the most.

I wrote off MM's first season due to Covid and the wrong DC choice.
We are a team that is work in progress. That has been forgotten.
  • D: Is progressing well
  • O: After a promising start to the campaign is now Jekyll and Hyde.

At the start of the campaign to forecast a 11-5 R with a play off game to go on (One and done? Who knows...)
All post J. Garrett = Yes all day long.

QB - DP / KM < I will give that pair another season of work in progress and "see how it goes"

I think that’s how most cowboys fans feel right now, playing against a much better opponent than recent weeks, the awful coaching, Dak being terrible, the kicker being awful..the defense basically being a fraud..where as after the demolishing of WFT I was starting to buy in, after today I’d be shocked winning the wild card game against anyone
With all the negatives you just named from today’s game, the fact we only lost by 3 points with no turnovers or gifts, I’m still encouraged.

Fans have been ridiculous this season with their expectations. We’ve beat up on bad teams this season. The only good team we’ve beat is NE and that was in OT. We’re the epitome of not ready for prime time. Bad coaching/terrible discipline and highly questionable QB/OL play.

It’s never as bad as some think or as good as others. It falls somewhere in the middle.

And why we must stay grounded as fans. Not get too high or low.

Some of us warned against the SB hype until we beat the better or Elite teams. But that’s how many fans are. They need something to buy into instead of letting it play out.

We are what we are. A good but not great team. We dominate average to below average teams and struggle against better teams.

Good news is we are in playoffs. We probably wouldn’t have won any other division in NFC. And who knows maybe we make some noise in playoffs. But I didn’t think we were better than the other top teams in conference.

But you can’t win if you don’t get there. In a one game elimination anything can happen . It is what it is. We are who I thought we were. It’s not all bad. We might get a couple games in playoffs.

Good thing the Bucs didn’t have that attitude last year. Strange.

No way are we winning 4 playoff games.

That isn’t remotely realistic.

I’d be thrilled with a single playoff win, and doubt we are even getting that.

Most smart fans didn't jump on the SB bandwagon after last week. Most wanted to see what the Cowboys would do against an actual good team.

We failed that test again.
Yep. This not directed at you but your thought sparked mine.

We did beat two pretty good teams this year . Pats are in the playoffs and Chargers could get in if they beat Raiders next week. And maybe Philly pending next weeks game.

That’s 3 teams with winning records this year. Unfortunately we loss against Tampa, KC and Az.

We have fared well in recent years when we don’t have a 1st place schedule. All of our double digit winning records this era have come with 2nd or 3rd place schedules.

And our extra or 17th game this year was Pats which was probably our best win

I still think we can win a playoff game and be a tough out.Even though we didn’t have our best game we still made a game of it today much like in Tampa . While I don’t think we’ll go deep we should be competitive . But who knows. Can’t win if you don’t get in.

I don’t feel any different about this team than I did last week. Tampa wasn’t overly impressive today nor the Rams. I think GB likely will win NFC. But I haven’t thought we were better than any of them anyway.

Works for me, better than sulking like a spoiled kid that didn't get his candy.....
It must be difficult for a career coach to think like a disappointed fan who lost a game.

I guess as a coach you must always remain positive for the kids. Even if you feel the gravity of the reality you can’t share or express with them.

How does that work having to always encourage even in the face of defeat?

This team can not win against a real playoff team, literally zero chance . They will manufacturer a loss no matter what.

I said in another post that I took losses hard when I was coaching because my paycheck and the paychecks of my assistants depended on it. These games are just entertainment for me, I don't get worked up over these game because I have no control.....I used to get worked up before I became a HC....everything changed after that.

That’s life with the Cowboys and this fan base. I wasn’t talking Super Bowl last week I know better. lol
Lol ive been on lets see how we do in the playoffs. Even if we blew out the cardinals i would still feel the same way. The cardinals have looked bad lately so even if we won it would not have given anymore confidence
