I have no problem with TJ Watt as DPOY. I'd been ecstatic had it been Micha, but wasn't thinking he'd get it his 1st yr. DROY is a lock though. I wanted Watt so bad that yr, but had we taken him he wouldn't be the same guy here he is in Pitt. IF he was made a LB, we'd never see those sack #s here. Making him a DE maybe you do, but who goes away, Lawrence or Gregory? That being said, I'd have drafted him, moved him to DE and let it work itself out

You seem to be a bit short on patience. We all root for the same team, I don't know why we have to attempt to demean others, lol.

I didn't like the Favre lay down either, but there will be a lot of single season records broken over a 17 game season vs 16. Watt is having a special season and even missed a couple games. However, after 42 some seasons of 16 games, broken records of single seasons don't seem as exciting.

How did I misunderstand? You said Cooper Kupp said how records will have to carry a designation of 17 games as opposed to 16 games.

Well, wouldn't that be the same as Simpson saying the 2,000 rushing club should note his 14 games as opposed to the others who needed 16 games?

Who gives a darn about DPOY etc…… who cares about Pro Bowl, etc…. All these individual awards/records etc… are BS and this is the mindset that some fans and players have that is part of what is wrong with the culture of this organization… too many care about individual goals…. All that should matter is winning a dam SB!!!!!

He, nor I, said the new records needed to have an asterisk.
He just thought it should be made clear when a record was from 16 and 17. There records from 16 games could be the ones denoted….he didn't say the new ones would be the one denoted, you just assumed that.

Either way, just like all records, people won’t care in a year or two whether it was 16 or 17….or 12 games.
The dilution will continue.

Simpson is a good example. Two games (or 3 now) less to get 2000 yards is far more impressive but people overlook it.

I just thought it was a nice gesture by Kupp to give credit to 16 game records that he will break in 17 games.

I acknowledge asterisk probably wasn't the best choice of words. Having said thus, I think my point still stands. Simply put, should the league also note records that were established in a 14-game season were broken in a 16-game and now 17-game season? That's the question I'd ask Kupp if I had the chance.
