I'm sure it was set up by reporters.. but it is bad signs when WRs are demanding targets via media.
Next we will have Zeke suggesting that he can't run 100 if he only gets 9 carries
And Pollard suggesting he can't do much with 3 carries
And Lamb suggesting he needs more targets..

But I think his overall point could be justified.. Kupp has 180 odd targets.. Cooper has less than 100. Hard to impact games and seasons if you are only getting 5 targets per game. Shultz has more targets... There is something seriously broken with our offence and for me it starts with the OC.. yes I blame Dak in there too but I also think Moore has no idea.

Not sure about the top 5 given the talent has at the position but he isn't even in the top 30 as far as targets go.

Lamb has 24 more targets than Cooper.

dang, I hope Roger Staubach never messes up and throws a jab at dak. the whole homer group will be saying roger sucks and was never as good as spasdak. "Since he's already better than Brady and Rodgers and any other QB playing in this time or time before or after."

they are a couple of psycho homers who already think he's better than troy so this would be a far-fetched idea.
Go take a look at Troy's career yearly stats.

6 out of his 12 years as the Cowboys franchise QB, Troy's completions % was in the 50s. Yuck.

When Cooper first came over, he was targeted all the time, especially in the Redzone. He and Dak have had a chemistry since that first year. Dak has his warts, but it’s foolish to think he gets to choose whom to target. It’s not an equal opportunity game. Pass plays are designed a certain way for a certain purpose against a certain coverage. The play design determines if Cooper is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd read. Unless you move him around to make him the first read, he is often the guy clearing out for other guys. It’s a simple concept. He’s complaining about the game plan and whether it features him or Lamb. Then there are plays where Shultz is the first read.

It would be easy to call plays and have Cooper move to X,Y, or slot to make him the #1 option. That looked like where we were going in preseason with all the talk about the receivers knowing all the positions and running the whole route tree, but we are not seeing it work that way.

How ironic that people who slam Cooper for his low key, non-diva demeanor are losing their minds because he is asking for the ball. I want ALL my receivers to want the ball. And I especially want my top dawg to want it. I see it as nothing but positive if this guy who is the best route runner in the game gets the OC and the QB to maybe look his way a little more often.. Very few game changing offensive players can change games without the ball. If Coop has to be a little more outspoken to make that happen.. I'm all for it.. Just make sure you catch the damn ball and you don't let some little 190 pound DB outmuscle you for inside position on a slant route..

Yeah it's difficult for me to believe any corner can really shut him down. But remember it isn't always just him and the corner. Teams are smart enough to shade safeties to his side in obvious passing situations. When that happens a risk averse QB like Dak is going to read "throw it elsewhere." Moore's offense just needs to adjust to include options that remove the ability for the safety to get involved. There are plenty such routes.. but we don't seem to use a lot of them.

Motion before the snap can assist in shaking up coverage depending if it is man or zone. It can also assist in reading what type of coverage the defense is in.

We were utilizing a lot of it first half of the season. We know the results and how are offense was performing.

“I really know that, if given the opportunity, that I can lead the league in all categories. That’s just how I feel about my skill set that I’ve been blessed with.”

Yeah? What does that trophy look like?

Yeah I really don't understand where the presnap motion in this offense went. It's like we just decided to only use it 2-3 times a game but keep it under wraps otherwise. It does make me wonder if there wasn't something to that whole "sandbagging the offense before the playoffs" rumor. Seems like the offense has gotten a lot more vanilla in recent weeks. Like we're really trying not to show too much.. On the first 3rd and long against the Cards we ran a simple three man route, basically everybody run to the sticks and turn.. The defense had dropped 7 and there was nowhere for Dak to throw the ball so it ended up being a sack. This is high school crap.. No crossers in behind the dropping linebackers.. Nobody taking the top off the defense.. All 10 yard button hooks.. About as vanilla as you could ask for on 3rd and long.

Honestly, I can't say that I blame him at this point. Literally everyone on an opposing team knows players like Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, and Justin Jefferson are going to get the ball, but the teams still find ways to get the ball in their hands. If Kellen Moore is this amazing coordinator then he needs to find ways to get Cooper and Lamb the ball more often.
Who cares who gets the ball as long as we are winning games, and scoring points against good teams!! Being balanced and spreading the ball out is smart offense. The defense cannot key on any one player.

In 99% of situations I agree.. but there are those situations .. when you really need a play you HAVE to be able to go to your money players. Sometimes the scheme is going to not work.. and in those instances you need somebody to go ham on the other team. You can't just count on great play calling to always make the plays for you.. Players have to make plays.. sometimes even when the defense makes the right adjustment.. or coverage or whatever.. Sometime you just have to want it more.. It's not every play.. it's not even most plays.. but there are those instances in every game when that's exactly what you need.

The only real way to get the ball is at the snap, run over to Dak and grab the damn ball out of his hands and take off, you might have just an equal chance if you expect Dak to try and find you open.
 . . sad but true
