We assume that we've moved on from the KM talk, to replace him are you fine with it being someone who's currently on our staff? I'm not a fan of this approach, it's time to get some new ideas/new wrinkles.

Only thing holding this up is that you've invested so much in your QB, to make him happy you may want to keep guys around him that he likes. The next person I could see taking over it we ever lose KM would be our QB coach.

Can't think of his name right now, but he and Dak have a great relationship. If we ever went that way, I sincerely hope the coach has new plays to use, and not the ones we've currently been using for several years, what's your thoughts???
Not happening. If Moore leaves, MM will call the plays

One a HC gives up play calling and he see how much more influence he can have on the team, he'll never go back....he knows plenty of coaches, he'll bring in a guy that fits him and we may be better for it.
Interesting perspective. How does he gain more influence for us non-coaches?

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
Mike will hire someone he's familiar with most likely. Run an outdated west coast offense with more passes behind the line of scrimmage like we've seen this year.

Just make sure the person wasn't around for the Garrett years
From what I hear, Garrett is still working for the Cowboys organization as an on-call consultant for the offense! Whenever the Cowboys play high level teams (Arizona Game) and the current staff feels they needs to incorporate some ideas from someone with experience, they refer to Garrett lead in creating the game plan. He never really was fired. How could they just walk away from a generational genus like Garrett! How could you all not see his fingerprints all over certain game plans this year?

KM knows he has to go because the great Ben McAdoo can't be held back for too much longer.

The logical choice would be Joe Philbin, the Cowboys’ current OL coach. After all, Philbin was the OC under MM in GB for six years.

That includes 2010 when both helped to lead the Packers to a Super Bowl victory.

I'd believe you even more if we ran the draw

Clearly creativity is seriously lacking
Yeah but you have to wonder how much they watered down the playbook the past month and a half.

We had a pretty substantial lead in our conference and we weren’t playing great teams. Saints, Giants and FT. We beat those teams without needing our entire playbook.

Yeah if Moore goes it's a pretty good bet McCarthy takes over the play calling. Somebody will get the title of OC but Big Mike will want to call the plays. I can't get behind the whole "hire somebody that runs a completely different offense" thought process. Many is the QB who has been ruined trying to change up systems.. Not saying Dak would be one of them but generally the most successful QBs get to stay in the same offense for a number of years.. and experience a drop while they learn any new system. That's just reality. Hell it took 20 year veteran Brady 11-12 games last year to get acclimated with Arians' system. And Dak has less than a third of Brady's experience.. So count me as a no on the whole "new offense" thing.

I don't think McCarthy wants to call plays if he doesn't need to and seems Jerry Jones view is he wants his head coaches focusing on that.
