The last game does not matter

How many superbowl teams lost the last 2 games of the season?

We need all the reps we can get. The result doesn't matter, but the offense needs to get better.

It's not as if we showed vs AZ we are primed and ready to make a run.

The last offensive drive against the Cardinals was good. We're ready.

Pulling starters is a luxury for good teams in rhythm. We are former, but not the latter. You really want to go into the playoffs being both
And one game against the Eagles backups won't change that. Rhythm is not built by one game.

What if we try to win and lose to their backups? The result would be catastrophic to our psyche.

You’re totally wrong! We haven’t treated the last game of the season like it was meaningless every year we make the playoffs. In the season finale in 2014 we went all out to beat Washington despite having our division all wrapped up. That was a totally meaningless game but we played to win with our starters and did. We wanted to have momentum entering the playoffs and it paid off, we beat Detroit in the wildcard round. We had the NFC East wrapped up heading into week 17 in 2018 but played to beat the Giants. We played our starters the entire game and beat NY 36-35. The momentum we gained paid off, we beat Seattle in the wildcard round. You might want to get the facts straight before posting.
There is zero evidence that proves playing hard in the last game carries over. That is a straight fact.

Not sure, but I doubt it. Philly was 13-2 coming in.
They had #1 seed already wrapped, win or lose. So it was meaningless. This game for us isn’t meaningless. We still have opportunity to improve seeding and should attempt to take advantage. At least force the current 2 and 3 seeds earn that spot.

I agree with the OP.

All this talk about momentum and look what Dallas did last week after a 56-14 win over WFT. The goal is to be healthy going into the playoffs. Nothing will be forgotten faster than the result of tonight's game.

And we are not flopping due to treating the last game that way.

People are so damn stupid.
Our HC might be stupid too. He says we’re playing to win . We shall see who we rest. Wonder if his directive is coming from above?

Hopefully he plays it smart. Egirls look to be playing it as a meaningless game. Hope nobody gets hurt or the bug. We’ll look really stupid then.

Maybe another 56-14 win even if it’s against scrubs off the bench will bolster our confidence and SB hype :)

I just provided plenty of evidence with the Cowboys that playing hard in the last game carries over. You love making yourself look silly don’t you? Playing hard and winning in the season finale carried over in 2009, 2014 and 2018 and you’re saying there’s zero evidence that proves playing hard in the last game carries over?

You didn't provide plenty of evidence. Barely any at all.

Playing hard in a meaningless last game is irrelevant to winning in the playoffs. It's not good or bad. I have provided plenty of evidence that it's true. Silly doesn't even begin to describe how you sound.

It's so mind numbing that people are going out of their way to claim this, when the opposite is obviously true.

You’re one of the most irrational fans I’ve run into. Not wasting anymore time with you.

If we arent good enough to beat the Eagles backups, then we never really had a chance

Sorry but this team needs to end on a win. Had we been aggressive last week then we would still try to beat the egirls. But would not matter as much. We decided to go vanilla.. Am wanting to be healthy.. This is a division game..

It does matter, tank to get a draft pick and rest the starters.

And here's another example. 2017. Eagles pulled EVERYONE in the final game vs us. We beat them 6-0. Remember what happened then? If not, I'll tell you. Eagles won the super bowl.

Winning or losing a meaningless final game of the season means absolutely nothing. I think most want to win for personal numnums, so they make up some silly stuff to attempt to give their little feelings credence. Very silly.
Yep, basically a preseason game. I don't care about the W or L. I care about 2 things. The offense showing some rhythm and KJ getting reps.

It does matter, playing on Saturday with seeding still not settled means a lot.

Jalon Hurts isn’t playing and if he does just a few snaps.

what has to happen for our seeding to change?

It’s hard to comprehend how many fans think Dallas should mail in tonight’s game. It’s a divisional rival. A higher seed is at stake. Can’t go into the playoffs with back to back losses. Just can’t. I don’t see Dallas turning it around if they get hammered tonight. I truly think they need the W tonight.
