its not a surprise.they look at how the niners physically dominated a good Rams dline and how we struggled against good Dlines ourselves and its easy to come a undercooked conclusion.

That’s your only rebuttal is to attack his fandom. You have become what you hated all those years with Romo.
I'm asking a serious question. If I remember correctly, either he or another poster mentioned earlier in the season that he was actually an eagles fan. That's why I am asking, so get off that high horse for a second, Greg.

Not all of the talking heads on the four letter and other networks are Dallas haters, some call it like they see it, and do have some expertise, especially the ex-players.

Sadly what the ones that aren't calling for Dallas to do much have based their views largely on reality, the simple fact is that Dallas played once again in a weak division, got to play the terrible Falcons, just squeaked by the non-playoff Vikings, needed overtime to get by the not-at-the-time playing well Pats, lost to the non-playoff Broncos by a lot, and lost to a Cards team that lost 4 of their last 5, with the one win being over us. Losses to the Cards and Broncos at home, no less.

Even if they get to the NFC championship game, likely it's at the Packers, where they seldom win.

But having said that, have to keep some things in mind:
1. Covid is still around, what if they get to play the Packers and Rodgers is out with the Covid? Or all the other playoff games Covid ravages the opposing teams? I suspect it's entirely possible Covid will have a big role to play in who wins the SB, though teams will probably self-quarantine a lot.
2. It's all about matchups, Dallas may get great matchups in all their games.
3. Really there's no team that has dominated all season, all have had their "oops" games, the playoffs are one and done, an off game or some funny ball bounces and teams like the Packers can fall early.

So there's really no reason to be greatly optimistic about Dallas this year, now with Gallup out, T. Smith having off and on physical problems, and there's nobody to "plug in" at LG, etc., weak spots on the team will remain weak spots. Good teams/coaches know how to exploit those weaknesses, are our coaches up to the task?

My view is watch and what happens, happens, no expectations, one way or the other...

Well said. Respect is earned in the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Cowboys haven't done that in a generation. Some fans here are reminding me of Fredo.

The media loathes Dallas. That will never change. Dak & the Boys thrive on hate. They're going to dismantle San Fran.

The last time Dallas met San Fran in the playoffs was in the NFC Championship on Jan. 15, 1995. The 49ers won, 38-28.

It's karma time. Then knock Brady out. Unless he loses to the Egals yet once again in a big game. :muttley:

Views are money...Cowboys get the views

if i ran a show i cant say i wouldnt do the same.....Dallas could win the Uber Bowl and the headlines would say "they got lucky and didnt play real teams in the playoffs" "you have to win 2 in a row to justify giving you the first one" or "just because you win the superbowl doesnt mean you won the superbowl"

It's a fan forum. Support and belief is warranted. Naysayers/doubters should find something else to do.

The crazy thing is. Trolls try to get fans to leave the board by agreeing to a bet that the Cowboys will lose before a certain time. The Cowboy fans just need a SB win to get them to leave.
They won't leave. They are protected here.

It doesn't matter what anyone says, if Dallas cannot prove it on the field, it will rollover to next year. The Cowboys need to change the narrative.

25-22 is not losing badly to the Cardinals.
I also like all of the qualifying our wins
-the pats weren't good at the time
-the chargers ended up out of the playoffs (how were they playing "at the time"?)
-the eagles weren't good at the time (1st game) (niners barely beat them)

These 9ers have lost 7 games. They got smacked down by the cardinals last time they played. They were swept by the Seahawks. They lost by 12 to a Colts team that is sitting at home this week.

They match up well with the rams, it is what it is.

Very overrated team at this point.

Indeed we can. To me it's simple: national respect is earned by winning in the playoffs. Do that and outsiders will look at the team differently. They'll have no choice.
