The whole 49ers are too tough narrative is going to go against them

Okay, something has been really on my mind so I would like to discuss this with anyone who cares to reply...

It takes a total team effort to win in the playoffs, sure a superior QB can make the difference, but the bottom line is the entire team is what it takes to do well..

The narrative that is pulsing over the airwaves as well as TV is that the Cowboys are getting a match-up that most likely they won't be able to overcome. We even hear resident homer Mike Irvin sounding the sirens about this very topic.

Everywhere we turn we hear a talking head saying that the Cowboys just aren't tough enough and we don't play well against good teams. Sure there is some truth to this, but I also believe that this is going to blow up in the niners face.

We all know that when our Boys are favored and gloated over they typically have slip ups at some point. This brings me to my next point of dissecting this point in our teams maturation. We have a nice mix of vets and rookies and everyone is contributing to help this team grow. My opinion is that Zeke, Dak, Tank, Parsons are all tough as nails so the whole narrative that we aren't as physical is a complete falsehood..

At this point, and I don't usually make these proclamations, but I'm really getting the feeling that our team is going to rise up just as Davey did and strike Goliath down in glorious fashion... I normally just expect us to lose and hope for the best, but at this point in time, knowing what I know about our team and coaches, I feel like our team is going to play so fast and tough that the niners aren't going to know what hit them. The disrespect is real, and I feel like this is a HUGE motivating factor at this very point in time..

Lets also not forget that Dak's QB rating in the playoffs is incredible.. Just how much of the maneuvering that Big Mike showed by resting players and getting ready for the playoffs is going to pay off? Hair on fire time!!!

Elijah Mitchell and Deebo Samuels are bonafide studs, Bosa a monster, Kittles bad to the bone. Yep, worried. Anyone trying to down play what we are up against is only fooling themselves, we are in some serious stuff here. We must bring our A + game and hope Jimmy G brings his C.

I am not ready to start with the.......what happened to Dak, who makes too much.....boy is Zeke slow or what.....where was Tony....Micah what happened....Coop where were you man....Come on CeeDee right in your hands.....anytime soon, which is where we are going with a loss.

Nobody is giving us a chance, it's worst that I thought it would be.

Clay Travis is a ATS player and the best I have seen, he had Georgia 24-17, it was 28-18 before that pic. He is great at picking winners he will be unleashing his picks tomorrow. Big deal who he takes.

I think the Cowboys play at their best when they're being told by the mainstream media that they're not tough enough or good enough.
This is exactly what I'm saying..... We are being told that the Cowboys are getting a horrible match up and they aren't physical enough... I know the team has to be ready to explode at this point.. Having said that, if we were being favored and gloated on, I would be more concerned with losing, but because of this crazy narrative that we're gonna fold I think we look for the knockout punch early and often.

I get that they have some studs, but so do we.. Last time I checked we beat them 41 to 33 last season with Andy Dalton at QB and Pollard getting nearly 6 yards per carry... I know it's a different year, and teams are different but we've improved quite a bit.

Yeah hopefully.

But until I see them do it I won't believe it. Not just this wild card game but the divisional round too. Wins these next two games and then I'll look at the team a little differently.

I agree with you, but on the flipside, with our experience at this point, and the lack of total respect, I believe this may have our players jacked up beyond recognition...
If we end up playing Tampa Bay in the next round that is a whole other issue all together.

The Cowboys ARE favored, by 3, in this game though.
Yes, the odds makers have them favored by 3 but we all know that the home team gets 3 points by default so it's really a pick em..

I'm not talking about Vegas, I'm talking about NFL football players in the media, talk shows, just about everyone says we're the most
likely team to get beat that should win and that we're weak. I agree we have somewhat earned that mantra, but I think with a healthy squad
and disrespect we come out with hatred in our eyes.. The niners went through a lot to beat the Rams last week, we had an extra day to rest up..

I'm picking the Boys to win this fight, and I typically don't go that route... They have a better team overall as well, but the fire is ignited, I believe it..

Mitchell is a nice player, but bona-fide stud is excessive. He's just as likely to be out of the league in two years.

If we bring our "A" game it doesn't matter what game Jimmy G brings. We will win.

It's one thing to respect your opponent, it's another to hang on their nuts. We are the better team.

2+ Decades of post season failure doesn't point to a team built on toughness. 3pts is what home teams get and offset the money in Vegas since Dallas is so popular. Basically Vegas is saying teams are equal.

Amen.. the thing about the whole "Cowboys are soft" narrative is it's absolutely going to royally piss some guys off. I think that gets them to play with an edge that we have not seen all year. I expect one or two personal fouls from our guys early on. And I won't mind it one bit.
