No hate on Gallop but he's not close to Cooper as WR go.
Gallup is a bonafied top #2 WR.

After this season, CeeDee is now our #1. Cooper has gone backwards. Inconsistent like he was with the Raiders, hence why they were quick to trade him, especially for a 1st.

Maybe uncle Jerry can trade him but if you think CeeDee and Gallop are going to fill the void just think 2017.

I think he does just look at the other guy's numbers, it's related to Cooper being on the field, pretty simple.
We will see. The playoffs are here. Time for Cooper to beat his matchups, get open frequently, earn his money and play like a #1. No excuses. The playoffs is where the big boys show up.

What an epic failure of team building it would be. To have to release Amari Cooper but be stuck with Zeke for another season and a massive cap hit.
Right here is a hater.

Can't just comment on Amari....have to bring Zeke into it.

If you want zeke gone make your own thread about it. If you like Dak you might rethink it. At least until you pick up a bigger #1 RB than Tony.

In regards to Amari.....prior to the last few games...anytime I saw a spark in the passing game...it was Amari that lit it up. We saw it almost instantly upon his signing.

NOW? It could be Ced.

Regardless of my respect for some of the pro Amari posters here...

Ya just can't pay the guy that kinda money after seeing so many other WR1s receiving performances a la guys like Kupp, the last 2 years' LSU kids and heck, even rookie Waddle's numbers in Miami were better than Coop's.

The production/onfield performance and impact are not commensurate with paycheck.

Of course you could go down this same rabbit hole with Zeke and Lawrence and possibly even that other guy but this post is about Coop, lol.

Oh yeah, and I'm a Bama guy.

Cooper has been getting hounded by the media and now the league is on his case.

I think Jerry is angling for Coop’s release with some of the public statements he made earlier in the season. It also seems the media attention is targeted, and it could be the team playing PR games.

Theories aside, if the FO is interested in bringing Wilson back and they believe Gallup can be brought back on a 1 year deal, releasing Coop does make financial sense. They could transition 10 million of the cap from offense to defense with that one move.

I really like Amari and his quiet confidence but his production has been down so paying him 21 million next season seems insane.
Amari Cooper just might be our hero in this year's playoffs so it just seems premature to be making such comments days before a playoff game. There is a time and place for everything. This isn't the time for that discussion.

These types of threads... smh

People sitting at home thinking they're GMs.
Here are the moves if anybody listened.

Get rid of:

Dak
Zeke
Tyron
Gallup
Cooper

Did I miss anyone?

We're in the playoffs and THIS is a discussion!?!

It's not all about stats. Just look at Michael Irvin, while he had great numbers, his value to the team as its emotional leader was geat also.

Hard to get a read on him since he is so quiet, but he may be thought of as a leader of the receiver corps by the other players.

Besides, there's always (well nearly always) contract re-structuring, the money issue may be able to become not an issue.

With Gallups TWO injuries this year alone, I wouldn't be so quick to dump Cooper for him....

He brings zero energy or leadership to the team. He lets the team down by missing two games due to his decisions when Jerry wants everyone “all in”, and now the nfl is on him for yet another decision. He runs good routes but they don’t utilize him anyways. Sprinkle in some consistent foot and soft tissue injuries and not getting any younger, and he’s a great 5 million, number 2 receiver. But #1 receiver at 20 million per year ?
