Oh they don't huh? Prime Time never had 11 INTs in a season. Is Diggs better than him?

Peyton Manning lil Brother has 2 SB rings. Is he better than Dan Marino, who has none?

On and on. Stats lie.

Stay on track. The stats say that Lamb is #1. He is better in nearly EVERY category. Facts are stubborn things.

Cooper has been getting hounded by the media and now the league is on his case.

I think Jerry is angling for Coop’s release with some of the public statements he made earlier in the season. It also seems the media attention is targeted, and it could be the team playing PR games.

Theories aside, if the FO is interested in bringing Wilson back and they believe Gallup can be brought back on a 1 year deal, releasing Coop does make financial sense. They could transition 10 million of the cap from offense to defense with that one move.

I really like Amari and his quiet confidence but his production has been down so paying him 21 million next season seems insane.

i like you as a poster. However this is one the stupidest things I’ve ever seen you post. Do you have short term amnesia and forgot what our offense looked like the 2 games Cooper missed with Covid this year?

Dallas is in the playoffs after a 2- season absence PLUS bouncing back from a terrible 2021 season.
As a Cowboys Fan tonight....I am focused on what the team will do tomorrow \this postseason --rather than speculate what the situation will be for individual players for the next regular season.

Would more targets help his cause? I think Amari is complaining about low targets this year. I think he knows what's up too.

The Big 3 WR all disappear in games sometimes collectively lets not pretend Cooper is an aberration, Cooper is more a possession type receiver, he is "fast" but he is not a high point receiver, he is a route running technician that makes acrobatic sideline catches. He, Lamb, and Gallup when they were all on the field together the philosophy is any one of them can be the "primary" target, there are are only so many footballs for a talented receiving corp especially if you add a Wilson and Schultz into the mix.
I remember the comments on the offense after they drafted Lamb. No one ever considered that with 3 very good WRs, a decent TE , a $40 million QB and 2 good RBs that this offense would struggle in games when facing decent defenses. In some games, the offense is putrid at best. There is a lot of money invested in an offense that is this inconsistent.

With all the negativity swirling around Coop these days, some of it self inflicted, I hope he hasn't checked out on the organization. They need him for this run.

Hard to keep is in the eye of the beholder. The Joneses can deal with the cap as it changes in the coming year. However right now this team is the middle of a playoff run. Why are people having such a hard time just enjoying the ride here? What am I missing?
On this Board......Posturing for blame already.

Regardless of my respect for some of the pro Amari posters here...

Ya just can't pay the guy that kinda money after seeing so many other WR1s receiving performances a la guys like Kupp, the last 2 years' LSU kids and heck, even rookie Waddle's numbers in Miami were better than Coop's.

The production/onfield performance and impact are not commensurate with paycheck.

Of course you could go down this same rabbit hole with Zeke and Lawrence and possibly even that other guy but this post is about Coop, lol.

Oh yeah, and I'm a Bama guy.

Most of these players with the big contracts are not playing up to their level of play. Dallas should be looking for ways to get rid of these players ASAP.

Avg targets per game
Kupp 11.2
Adams 10.6

Coop 6.9 this makes him 31st in avg targets per game.

I dont believe Coop is down of his own fault. Dak is ether spreading the ball around or Coop is covered or he's just missed.

If we were to feature him I don't think for a second his numbers would be down. When he started calling for the ball he went out and lit up Washington. We are better when he gets his targets.
I think Dak is at fault as much as Cooper, if not more. During games against the better defenses, Dak tends to throw more five yard passes instead of throwing down field to Cooper. Even the commentators have mentioned it. Dak limiting his throws to short routes for minimum gains don’t help the offense or Cooper.

Hope Cooper reads this tomorrow as he is having his morning coffee. Sure he will appreciate the love.

I agree in term of talent but can you pay a WR 21 million for 70 catches a year?
How about 70 catches a year and SB MVP?

It could happen. That's why I wouldn't make assumptions about the value of a player until the end of the season and Coopers season isn't over. In fact, it may have just begun.

Chronic---- i know i will be upset at what players we lose after this season....cause we cant keep em all.....Cooper does come up big in big moments......and 21 million is a lot to pay

i could see Gallup and Ceedee and Wilson and 2 good TE's like Shultz and Jarwin.....and hope we keep Pollard and lose Zeke....we need another real good Running back with Pollard not Zeke

dont know how much we eat because of his guaranteed salary....but Zeke must go....not sure how our team looks next year but hope we keep our DC and dont care if we lose Moore or McCarthey if push comes

to shove....but hope we dont lose Quinn.....i just hope we better team next year then this year?
