I have come to the conclusion this team needs a rebuild. They need to purge the team of all the stupid players and start drafting players who can think. Jimmy Johnson was right. The Cowboys are the dumbest team on the planet and I hate to say it but I think it starts with McCarthy.
It starts with Jerry

He’s a DA

He’s only a billionaire because he’s incredibly lucky

Many of you are upset.
I'm not.
You could see this coming a mile away. But the ones of us who could were called "haters" and "not real fans" because we didn't buy into the rah-rah-cis-coom-bah rhetoric.

All along I've said ...
1. McCarthy will cost us a game based on his time management and his lack of situational awareness
2. Kellen Moore isn't the boy wonder Cowboys fans think he is
3. Dak is a good quarterback, but one who isn't going to win unless he has a SUPER team built around him
4. Zeke isn't the back he used to be and is unreliable (takes himself out of the game too often for my taste)
5. and that this is an undisciplined team.

The pattern has been set. And it's difficult to deviate from patterns once they're established.

So I've tempered my expectations to what is reality, which is, the Dallas Cowboys are a good team, just not a Super Bowl-caliber team. We can make the playoffs based on a very weak division. But we won't beat the elite teams we need to beat to get to the NFC Championship much more the Super Bowl.

We don't have the players, the coaches or the ownership.

But we'll be back next year with hope that springs eternal, with visions of Super Bowl dancing in our heads, with homeristic fans proclaiming that they see a Super Bowl next year.

Same ole, same ole. Wash, rinse, dry, repeat.

For 26 years and counting.

Exactly. He tried to win the whole game on that play.
After we covered 40 yards quickly, you did see SF line the sidelines and call a timeout so we could throw no more passes to the sideline, right? The whole idea was you either throw the 50 yard Hail Mary right there or you let the QB run up the middle into a better play that could really win the game after stopping the clock. You want the QB running it because only the QB can go down, giving himself up, ending the play. Anyone else and they could let the time run out before tackling him. No one could run to the sideline for the same reason no more passes could go to the sideline. It was actually brilliant, but they misjudged how much time they’d have to clock the ball and run a free play down close for the TD. It’s our fault, maybe we should have gone down 5 yards sooner, but that ref didn’t exactly follow the play either. He ran from way the hell back, our OL blocked him from the ball, and then for some reason he wasn’t happy just touching the ball, but actually picked it up and moved it back a yard, even though he never looked to the sideline….weird.

You know...this really is the type of team where all you really need to do is check in every couple of seasons for a progress report to see what has been accomplished. But, we'll be back next season for more punishment. We're gluttons for punishment!

Looks, it's not the head coach, repeat after me, it's not the head coach... there's one common denominator, it's the GM... Fire the GM and the team can move on... he runs every aspect of the team.
Can’t. He owns the team. When a team gets 14 penalties, and most were completely legit, coach has to be held responsible.

Our receivers were running wide open on a lot of plays. Meanwhile Dak’s starring down one man.

I had largely gone out, but folks convinced me too get back in the game this year. I tried to believe, but this was exactly, exactly the same as every year since the days. Self destructive and undisciplined.

how could that have won the game after stopping the clock at 10 more yards? he could have thrown end zone 2 or three times right there. go 10 yards and even if it HAD worked out, you have only one chance, still 30 yards out.

I don;t really see anything brilliant about it. not even 100% sure it was designed.

You aren't listening.

We need to run MORE....so call MORE running plays and give them to Pollard.

12 plays isn't stealing much. Zeke's touches are just fine. It;'s a sin Pollard doesn't have 5-10 more and it ain't Zeke's fault. So cut that silliness sheesh!

Don't you think we'd run more if we could get more than 2 ypc? I hear you on Moore but why don't we ever start off with positive run plays? I think it's because we are a poor running team, hence why we don't do it more often.

Watch this draft will be heavy on oline.

Problem is once you've got a rep for committing penalties, the flags come out much quicker than they do against teams without that rep. That is a hard piece to get turned around, regardless of coaching, because the refs are just looking for it. They scout teams too.

yea, or whats Urban Meyer doing next year right?

The reality is IF McCarthy goes Moore stays and its 5 more years of having "weapons" that need hook and ladders to move the ball down the field. I'll take McCarthy a million times over if you're looking at the real consequences of him leaving

Elliott 12 carries...31yrds

Pollard....4 carries....14 yards.

Lost the time of possession battle.....33+ to 26.....We were playing catch up all day long.....but in the end.....

NFL did this to Cowboys once again....

Nope. The Cowboys did this all to themselves

Yup. Be careful though. You’ll have a hard time convincing many on this board of that.
