I’ve been guilty of having “hope” this year. I’m too old not to have known better. Most of the problems were moves applauded by the fandom. Just saying.

ExactlyI agree. I’m still amazed at the Cowboys fans who say, “Stephen is really calling the shots now.” Two thoughts on that:
- That’s news to Jerry who still insists he has “final say” on everything.
- If SJ is in charge now, how are we supposed to take any comfort in that based on recent results?
I'm convinced that this team will never win anything until after Jerry is gone. Stephen Jones seems to have his head screwed on better than his father so I have hope for when he takes the reigns.
Truth. Apparently there are no mirrors allowed in Cowboys executive offices with a Jones name on the door. What I'm worried about is Jerry the fan. As encouraged as I was to hear he was upset about the loss, I'm almost equally discouraged by my doubt that he'll address the right problem.

Wishful thinking, although I can't blame you - what else have we got?
Stephen has only worked for Jerry. Strangely, no other NFL team has pursued him. Stephen will be Jerry 2.0, and his son will fill his role as first mate.
This team is doomed as long as it's run as a Jones family business. They'll make money, but they won't win anything. Enjoy!

So I ask, what specifically is Jerry consistently doing wrong that is leading to our failure all by itself?
I seriously doubt it because that would require JJ to admit a mistake. The last time he fired a HC was in 2010 when a 1-7 team embarrassed him in national TV and he had already picked a successor. I think he hates looking for a HC because he doesn’t pick them based on who is best to help the team win. It’s based on who makes him most comfortable. You think he fires Mike?
I’m very concerned about this too. The ref blaming is a cancer. And the leadership allows it.I'm starting to buy into the general lack of discipline within the organization. Blame shifting seems to be getting pretty bad lately. A lot of talk about refs from players says a lot about accountability, imo.

Post game press conferences across the league are littered with ref blaming. Aaron Rodgers has done it his entire career. Its ubiquitous.
My question as always is, what is Jerry doing specifically that has kept us from winning a divisional game for 26 years? Because at various points along the way we’ve had objectively elite teams, good QB play more often than we haven’t, good coaches, etc. We’re not consistently deficient in any one thing. It’s just all failed to come together at the right time. But we have absolutely built teams capable of winning a SB in the last 26 years, and for various reasons (different each time) it didn’t happen.
What if Patrick Crayton doesn’t drop that pass in 2007? What if they correctly called the Dez play a catch in 2014? What if Aaron Rodgers doesn’t make one of the greatest throws in history in 2016? Did Jerry cause all of that to happen? Any of those teams could have won it all, and certainly could have made the NFC title game.

For the most part, I like Jerry the owner but i have grown to hate Jerry the GM.
His problem is that he runs this team like a mom and pops Store and he becomes attached to players and coaches instead of being a cut throat business man, he often develops a soft spot for his employees.
As an example, look at this whole Dak situation..
Although i disagreed with the decision to roll with Dak for 2016, i understood it. But why didn't they allow Romo to compete in 2017? If Dak was better, Dak would gave won out and we would have had 2 good qbs on the roster and Romo would have been the backup. But they didn't do that because they knew Romo was better. They did'nt want to hurt Dak's fweelings.. That is the problem with our team in a nutshell. Country club organization.
The Eagles drafted Hurts in the 2nd despite having just paid wentz.
The Rams got rid of Goff despite having just paid him because he was the weak link...
But i guarantee that Dak will be kept around no matter what because they "like" him.
Untill jerry stops running this team like the players are his sons, things will never change.
