Lets see what they do this offseason. They can restructure several guys and kick the can down the road, or they can bite the bullet and get out of several of these large deals next offseason.

Knowing Jerry we see a ton of restructuring, but even with that i'm not sure they can do much outside of resigning a few of their own FAs. I'm expecting a pretty non exciting offseason.

This is also why I think Jerry may move on from MM. If the roster wont improve on paper from 21 to 22, his best bet to sell next season to the fan base is through coaching changes.

Start the rebuild right now. No more "win now" moves. A "win now" situation does not exists with Dak Prescott at QB.

Suffer through Dak for the next 3 years.

Have a solid foundation in place when Dak's contract is up and get a real QB in here.
You have a solid foundation to build around.

Pollard, Lamb, Schultz, Parson, Diggs.

Doesn't mean much to be talking about cap space past the following year.

In 2024, we have 18 players signed and have 113mil in cap space. For better or worse it still includes Dak, Zeke and others signed long term who may not be on the roster as an active cap hit or dead cap hit when 2024 actually comes around.

The Falcons have 9 players signed and have 234mil in cap space but no QB signed and basically just 9 rookies.

Cuts are coming. I dont think we keep Dak either. Right now he is not worth 40M. He shouldve taken the long term deal. Not paying him 50-60M in 2 years.

But we can't get out of Dak's contract and we're never winning anything with him.
That just isn't true. We don't know things will pan out.

We can build around 11 and the defense was vastly improved. Guys like Jimmy G. make it to the Super Bowl all of the time. Solid defense, ground game, manage the game.

I agree it can happen, but its really tough to do.

You are already up against the cap, and you've gotta think about paying guys like Lamb, Diggs, ect. here real soon. Tough to build right now, even though you do have some really good players to build around. That is my concern.

You can restructure deals in the short term, but then you cant get out of some of these mega deals either. Tough situation.

Players contracts are signed to be moved and made flexible. We have never been spenders in free agency.

Expect several restructures and re-signing of our own.

Even with restructures, the Cowboys don't have a lot of cap space going forward. They are, hopefully, going to cut some dead weight in future years as well.

But it's not even about spending in FA. They are going to have to let productive players for us walk because we won't be able to resign them.
