We need interior OL and DL players. They just aren't nearly good enough.
Yup. I keep seeing Kellen Moore call these runs up the gut that go nowhere and think "why does he think that's going to work?" but then I've realized he thinks its going to work because other teams regularly do it against OUR defense!

Not saying this to be mean, but until Jerry passes, and takes the Jimmy Johnson curse with him, this team is doomed...

Sadly, Stephen will be no better IMO. He actually has less football acumen than his father (who at least started on a national championship team).

Okay, so we disagree. No big deal.

Wish I could prove you wrong or visa versa, well I guess this year we did prove Dak can't carry a team and put them on his back and lead them to victory, like the other QBs I mentioned (of course not counting Carr, although I still think he is NOW better than Dak, wasn't always but is NOW).

I really hope you have a chance to prove me wrong next year and have him do that. I very much doubt it will happen, but again I hope you get your chance.

Dak is the caliber of QB that can lead a team to a SB with a good supporting cast, specifically a really good OL and defense. History has proven this true many, many times. We have a ton of good young talent on defense and if we can bring some guys in to shore up the run defense that could be a great unit soon.

The issue in the formula is the OL. We need two new starters and maybe a third of Tyron continues to rapidly decline. I don’t think we have enough resources this off-season to address more than one of those spots with a starting quality player.

But we’re still much closer to a SB at any point in the next 5 years with Dak than without him.

I just have no idea where this team goes from here and the thought of starting this whole process over just makes me sick to my stomach.

They can’t just say this is good enough and if we clean up mistakes all will be well.

Lining up and doing the same thing over and over is just not the way and I think they have to fire McCarthy.

He’s been here 2 seasons and he was awful in year 1 and year 2 he beat a bunch of bad teams and nobody had an answer for the 2 high safeties. Also the lack of Pollard and playing Zeke was just criminal.

Dallas needs a culture change and they need a new face for this franchise right now but I know management believes in continuity and they get continuous results.

I just don’t know what they can do outside of a coaching change to give any hope to the fans.

I think that coaches get scapegoated far too often to placate the unwashed masses who are demanding pain and punishment. Often it's a coach-killing quarterback or a delusional GM enamored with his own media creations who are actually at the center of a team's woes. In McCarthy's case though I have to say that he hasn't flashed any brilliance or done anything to make me think he's got a solid plan,,, or that he's even in control of anything other than gametime decisions and scheduling practice.

Oh I agree but theyve married themselves to Dak Prescott so what else are you supposed to do?

Line it up and try it again?

McCarthy has done nothing special since he got here.

Is it harsh to blame him for everything? Yep.. I don’t care though. He can go. Beating bad teams and losing to good teams shouldn’t give you several chances.

History has absolutely proven the opposite.

We are one of the most talented teams in the league (all of the NFL analyst said the same yesterday in pre game broadcast), number 1 in offense and lead the league in turnovers on defense.

Tyron in decline, he made All-Pro this year. The real deal over the questionable pro-bowl honors.

Mahomes was sacked 6 times last night and under constant pressure, yet still threw for 400+ yards and 5 TDs and a 138 passer rating, double Dak's passer rating from yesterday of 69. His defense almost equaled ours in giving up 21 points compared to our defense which gave up 23.

The difference is the QB period.

Dak has not lead us into the superbowl or even past a divisional game.

Both are 40+ million dollar QBs, just one is earning it when it counts and the other isn't.

Supporting cast my butt!

Our window for playoff success came this year unexpectedly and it has now officially closed.

What the boys need to do is bring in an offensive coordinator who holds no ties with the Don Coryell offense and who has actually held offensive design positions for more than two seasons. Enough with the Garrett/Moore wunderkid coordinators.

Oh I fully understand the OL needs to be improved.

I just don’t think it matters. I’ve seen Dak behind the best OL in football before. Didn’t matter.
If we had the Dak from his rookie year with what the defense did yesterday, the boys win.

There hadn’t been much hope with this dysfunctional ownership for a very long time.

This is about as good as it gets. Maybe we’ll lose more Wagon fans. That could be a silver lining;)

I don’t want to hear about fixing things to make Dak better.

I watched guys with his pay grade perform and make plays with decimated OLines and WRs out.

Dak needs to help Dak. He’s paid to be the answer and he’s constantly a problem.

You know what the answer is for Dak? Take the game out of his hands and put it into a runningbacks hands. That’s what we pay 40 million for.
This is a stupid argument on at least one level. The cowboys hitched their wagon to him for at least next year. So you’re solution is to just whine about it?

Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion. If hope exist in Dallas it's only with Charlotte. Dak or NO Dak https://encrypted-tbn0.***NOT-ALLOWED***/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR0sk-xoW6Ee25h4CQPujYIpuM_5Q-cY3eOctQzSjbzPsquZWwjqgVKG78yNT1ZWHzxJY8&usqp=CAU

well, I don't play fantasy football so I ignore all this Cut dak, trade dak, etc. from a contract and cap perspective that doesn't work. so realistically looking back at how we had success and what we need to do to get back to that. Dak was at his best when we ran play action (I am sure people will take issue with the statement).

but we need to get back to strong running game. earlier in the year, when we ran effectively the team was more successful. not because we ran for 100 yards, which is what some fans point to at the end result. but because running was a threat. we struggled running because of the OL and I can't help and notice it started to fall apart when collins came back and we started the OL shuffle. to get back to being a good team and find success we need to be like Niners..... be built to run. emphasis on the run. that needs a strong OL that can accomplish that so we need to focus FA and draft on OL. I wouldn't mind even drafting an OL man in the first and second round. re-establish the running game. that would be our one chance for success. else, its more of this. the same.
We don’t need to go back to a strong running game. Look what Andy Reid has been doing for a generation. He uses the passing game as an extension of the running game ie quick passes to RBs. We need a coordinator who will design effective passes to the running backs and more shorter passes in the middle of the field.

Yup,,,, the guy has been showing us for years who he is and what he's got to offer. At some point we have to realize that his ceiling has been reached, this is the best he's got. He may be better than 2/3 of the other starting NFL quarterbacks but he shouldn't be considered the franchise QB to build around,,,, the Cowboys need to keep looking just like Andy Reid did...

I’m sorry but teams don’t win anything by paying Dak’s 40 million a year. Move along.

You can disagree with me but I’ll just be right.. Again…

The Dak delusionals watched him do squat as we waste a season and go 1 and done.
Typical beta male attitude. Moan about the Chads stealing the girls you fantasize about and claim as your own but don’t have the courage to approach and ask out.

lol, its been like that for over 25 years but fans wont accept it . Jeri loves this and forever profits off the undeserved devotion of Cowboy fans everywhere thus why nothing will ever change

Dak certainly didn’t have a good game but was he less productive than our 90 million RB or 100 million WR and how about our All Pro slot receiver with only 1 catch. And how many drives were killed by penalties by OL which couldn’t protect with only 4 rushing most of the game.

If you see our QB as the weakest link yesterday I’d suggest opening both eyes . And no , our QB isn’t good enough to overcome these other contributing factors. Not many are.
Exactly. There's money on the O line. Lawrence didn't have a memorable playoff performance.
