Does anyone think Dak is better than Romo was?

And this, in a nutshell, is what all the Dak hate comes back to. The mythical idea from the Romo Brigade that he somehow forced out the fearless leader, who was on the verge of finally reaching the promised land. Team Romo has never, and will never, get over this.
Nah, because it was a vacuous fantasy to believe a rookie QB would lead a team to the Super Bowl over an experienced veteran who had one of the highest QB ratings in the league. It was also disrespectful to believe in superstition over a QB who earned his position over a period of years and put his body on the line for twice that long because the red headed stepchild — who spoke of meritocracy but was the complete opposite of it — was tired of having his ego tied to the play of the QB always carrying his crappy coaching and offense.

We win yesterday’s game by 2 scores with prime Romo.
We win the game with early 2021 Dak, your point
There you go lol that says it all.
Romo would have beat the SF team, and probably at least get to GB game.

And I didnt like how romo was never allowed to play again in 16. I think that cost dallas a chance at a SB run.

Romo was done. His body was done. There was nothing left and no way he was getting through another full season, even with that offensive line. He could not take a hit any longer.

Still don't think so. Romo like to push the ball down the field also. The 49ers played mostly cover 3 and cover 4, meaning the covers were 8 yards off the wrs most the time

romo was good throwing short to te or wr. might have ad libbed for more runs too.
Get pollard in the game and go quick tempo so they cant pull him lol, then feed pollard.

I dont put all the blame on dak, mainly it is on mike KM and jerry.

The 49ers prioritized defending the run yesterday.
If you re-watch the game you'll see they pulled out of cover 3 a lot and even brought guys down to the box.
They might have shown it at times, they didn't stay there as often.

I’ll say this, good defenses do not respect Dak lots of 1v1 opportunities out there that aren’t being taken advantage of. Bucs, Broncos, Chiefs ,Raiders, Cardinals, 49ers all played our offense exactly the same. Our QB looked like a deer in headlights.

Romo would have. Like he won the Washington game with a chance to win the game in the 4th quarter? But some act like Romo always came up in every single big game and big moment the Cowboys had with him as the QB and that 2016 was guaranteed to finally be his year. He made mistakes still even when he was considered a veteran QB. He would still have his mishaps and big timing INTs in big games or moments.

We win the game yesterday with 2014 Romo.
what does that even mean? We win it with 92 aikman and 77 staubach too. Or how about we win with larry alllen and nate newton in place of 52 and 71? lol.

Some still think that Romo was going to be healthy enough to be able to grit it through and make it through the playoffs. Dak would never have gotten the chance as a rookie, if Romo could have stayed healthy in that season. And I still say that Romo would not do what some expect Dak to do in that situation, which is volunteer to bench him while QBing a hot team.

Yeah, even 2016 Romo wasn't 2014 Romo. Since the injuries were starting to pile up. So 2014 Romo would never have gotten the chance either way.

It means Romo in his prime was better than Dak. So, were Aikman and Staubach. QB play was a huge factor in the loss. For that matter, Larry Allen and Nate Newton were better offensive lineman that what we trucked out there yesterday.

2014 Romo definitely had help, which is why he was arguably the best QB in the league. Which explains why 2016 was an even more idiotic decision, because by that time, Smith, Martin, Free and Frederick played together for a minimum of two years together and Zeke came onto the scene with home-run hitting ability.

And he could get the ball to Dez and TWill, unlike Dak.
Terrance Williams disappeared once Romo left. Then look at Romos final drive against the eagles, who has his final TD? Terrance Williams lol

Your memory is probably better than mine, lol. What week was it in 2016 that Romo was declared fit for playing again?

It seemed like he never would fully heal before coming back and getting pounded and hurt again. I believe that year, he was finally fully healthy, but the team was playing great and they didn't want to mess with the mojo they had going.

That is one pretentious username you have there. :p

Anyone who stopped and paid attention to the giddiness seen in Jerry Jones' eyes during the month of October 2016 should have known the quarterback torch had been passed in his mind. They should have also started then preparing themselves for an eventual huge franchise quarterback contract to come but I digress.

The team's long-term future had been decided. Romo knew it. Prescott earned his opportunity for 2017 and beyond. My only dissatisfaction is held against Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett deciding a rookie quarterback would do what no other rookie quarterback has ever done--help lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance or victory--when they had a capable, playoff experienced, veteran quarterback on the roster.

Super Bowl opportunities are fleeting. A Romo-led offense may have had a 0.01% chance of helping the team reach or win it all in the 2016 playoffs. It was and may well forever remain better odds in the NFL.
I remember being one of the very few here who had zero doubt he should have got his job back when healthy. Even if you 100% believe in Dak now, he wasn’t close to ready for that moment back then. The best looking drive we had that year was the one Romo led drive. He was at the top of his game with a dominant offensive roster and earned the opportunity to see that last year through for better or worse.
