We're not close as long as Dak is the QB. "Win now" moves do not exist with Dak Prescott as your QB.

If we're stuck with him then blow it up and get the foundation ready for a new/real QB in 3 years.

I like Coop, I think CeeDee got a big head and quit.....he's gonna cost a lot...trade him and keep Gallup

I like Coop too. But we need money. Gallup isn’t coming back for 9 months to a year. Lamb checked out because he’s bored.

I wish I could believe blowing it up would help.

This is a culture problem that erodes young players They come in like a house on fire work hard till they get paid and that's all they care about.
Jerry tolerates this he doesn't hold them accountable after he pays them there are a few exceptions of course.
Coaches players everyone in this franchise overlooks enough details because they are comfortable that make us fail continually.

We can win our division make the playoffs but when everybody's good we cannot elevate ourselves to that standard it has been proven conclusively. We will always come up short because we really don't want it as much as the other teams that make it to that level.
So we can blow it up change coaches do all the things that we've already done over and over again but until the culture changes we will have the same results

Dallas can’t afford to blow it up. They are going to have to ride out these bad contracts unfortunately. Lets hope there aren’t a few more bad extensions before then :muttley:

It’s going to be blown up. Like 23 FA’s and Quinn is gone for sure. Hopefully Moore too. It’s going to look a lot different
This ^^^^^^^^
Like Thanos, this was "inevitable" after Jerry gave Dak 160 million over 4 years. We have no cap and couldn't win with the "super talented" team that we had, now we are losing some of that talent and no money to retain and gain more.

We're so damn close....Dak played poorly the last couple of months...Zeke was hurt, KM got a big head and forgot about Pollard, CeeDee drank the kool-aid....we have many issues, but....should we blow it up or keep building? I'm a homer, but I'm thinking blow it up, I don't see it getting better without an overhaul....

I will settle if Kellen Moore gets blown up.

No...typical over reaction. The Cowboys have a good core group that is very talented.

The how it gets fixed starts WWlll on this site.

I happen to think with Mr McClay on board once again, the Cowboys will draft appropriately. The coaching carousel will no doubt continue so who knows.

Go Cowboys!

no.
i want to see our stars make plays.
i still think this team is better than a first round exit.
im tired of seeing our season end early.
other division champs play on.
the guys in that locker room are the only ones who can change the narrative.

We could get money but we have to try to sell it. Coop, Zeke, Dlaw, Jarwin just to name a few. But we don’t make trades like that……

This is the perception that needs to change. I've heard this for years yet we can't even get beyond the divisional round. Didn't even get there this year.

Unfortunately, Jerry shares that perception. He overvalues the talent he's paid and undervalues positions that haunt this team over and over, again.

We like our guys.
We have talent.

Like a freaking broken record.
And it starts with Jerry, and his son is sounding exactly like him now, also.

Agree, we heard this crap for years.

With the absurd contracts some of these guys have been given I don't think you can blow it up. Just wait till Jerruh gives Diggs a boatload for the 11 int! Because you know Jerruh isn't smart enough to notice how teams exposed Diggs down the stretch
I would actually trade Diggs now while he's hot. That's how you rebuild.

Great point but in Jerry's mind Diggs is probably already a 'Cornerstone' of the defense and not expendable

This is said every year and we see the same guys roll over every year when it matters most. The culture itself is to blame and they help perpetuate it. Blowing it up sends a clear signal to the players that they do retain and new ones coming it. The problem is that it will never happen because Jerry shares your opinion....and we'll see the same results over and over as long as Jerry is controlling that culture.

We can’t with a quarterback making 40 million a season. The Cowboys are in danger of being the Falcons, stat padding average quarterback that eats up your cap.

Close? This is why the Cowboys get away with this year in and out. Our fans are delusional. Close would have been getting to the Championship game and missing out on a bad call or coming up short at the end. Close isn't getting your hat handed to you for 3 quarters in a wild card game against an inferior team. Put us in any other division and we don't make the playoffs. We might be stuck with Dak, but just wait until the rest of the division catches up with us and we don't get a free pass to the post season.

Honestly, I would trade Diggs, and shop Dak, Lawrence, and Zeke around. They're not likely to get great offers but on the off chance someone does make a great offer, that's a lot of cap space recovered for guys not living up to their contract plus draft spots.

More likely they are retained but sent the signal that their performance was unacceptable and they are on notice.
