There is not real significant difference between Dak and Garappolo. But one guy yesterday stood in a clean pocket, while the other was being harassed.

The common denominator off all the losses, save for the one to TB, was the offensive line could not protect Dak. I am not making excuses for Dak's gaffs.

But this offense is greatly different when Dak can play mostly unmolested.

Now the Kleenex Teardrop Set will throw a fit. But the fact is Dallas is as good a team as San Fran. If you take into account Dallas needs a left guard and right tackle, and a massive DT.

It's easier to blame Dak for everything.

Truth is, this falls on a front office that cannot see year after year the same problems with the defensive line and the offensive line.

Every team has holes. You cannot pay Dak $40M per and then let him off the hook because he doesn't have the perfect supporting cast. He's the biggest personnel problem on the team at the rate we're paying him.

Not always. Like early on, he rolled right, had a blocker handling one guy and another defender outside. Dake keeps pushing things farther outside to the extra defender and ends up having to step back and throw while going back. Terrible throw.

He showed have setup more inside, set his feet and made a quality throw. Or, just run it and get whatever he could.

He is just not natural back there. It's why he often takes a sack at the sideline instead of flipping the ball out of bounds.
Running it is something he needs to be doing. Loved the QB draw call but not at that time..

40+ will be the new starting point for a franchise QB.. How many years does Dak have left on his contract..

That’s the first and one of the only things we need to do. Today the O-Line coach should be fired. Way to many penalties over the season. Some that cost us big time…

I do hope Dak improves this offseason. After the injury he has not looked the same. The QB draw at the end of the game should have been not only earlier in the game but through the season. He has to take off. It’s part of his game. Takes the pressure off some of the Offense..

By the end of the game I was out of it. Just checked out. If they don’t improve expect the same. We knew they would run the ball but letting the qb look that good was bad.
You hope Dak impoves? He is going into is 7th season. Dak is what he is.

I’m all for the trenches. Their big guys won on both sides. I wish we got to see a heavy dose of Pollard. What could have been. 49ers were constantly in two high. So frustrating. Oh well.

3 end of year, or very late year 2021 rankings on Offensive Line

Dallas was 1st, 1st, and 5th

Let's take the lowest and assume we are 5th best overall.

Every QB dreams of having this.
For example, Just watch Joe Burrow run for his life half the games, and lead the league in sacks....and then come back here and complain about our line.

USE YOUR OWN EYES!!!! Our O line sucks!

The point is that most of the NFL Olines suck and Dallas’s Oline is still a luxury that the majority of teams don’t have.

If we had a legit QB you wouldn’t be nearly as upset with them I promise.

The problem is we have a QB that was made by his offensive line for years and now that they aren’t carrying him it’s becoming painfully obvious what the QB is.

The team paid the wrong guy. Dak needed to walk and the money should’ve been spent on making the team good.

The OL is not good it needs to be revamped. Even when Bosa went out we couldn’t keep the pressure off Dak. Our run blocking sucks. Connor Williams needs to be replaced and Collins isn’t getting it done. We’re going have to find a replacement for Tyron who can’t stay healthy. We have a lot of work to do on the OL.

the truth is if your QB has 3 seconds to throw then consider yourself lucky because it means the Oline is doing its jobs. Dak had 3 seconds or more on most passing plays yesterday. He held the ball too long, didn't run, or leave the pocket. All these things make the Oline look worse than they are.

It’s not nearly as bad as some think. But the left side needs much more work than the right side. Martin and Steele had something going. Collins came back and honestly screwed it up.

Coming into this season we knew that there was going to be a problem on the OL with Connor Williams and Tyler Biadasz next to each other. We've seen it all season. Williams holds because he gets overpowered. They tried to fix the problem by moving McGovern to LG and that was an even bigger mess. In the offseason they need to fix this but how?

Some of us have advocated moving Collins back to LG. Personally, I think the criticism of Collins is misguided. He got called for holding yesterday, but he was going against one of the best DE in the league and honestly I think the hold was called because Bosa went to the ground, not because Collins held him. Do people really believe Steele would have done better against Bosa? The same way McGovern was going to be an improvement over Connor Williams?

In the offseason the Cowboys have a lot of work to do but no CAP room to do it. The draft will only take them so far, especially picking down in the 20s. IMO, the priorities should be a TE who can block and catch the ball. Someone who can make plays down the field. Another priority is offensive line. Connor Williams is a free agent so count him gone. But a guy who can play tackle, but start at guard next year might be the best option. I don't know if they can replace Tyron Smith in 2022. Picking 24th they would have to get very lucky.

Dallas will also need WRs. Gallup, Wilson, Brown and Malik Turner are all free agents. I don't see how Dallas does not draft one or more WRs.

Just those 3 positions and more than half their draft picks are gone. I would sit on what they have on defense. The DTs could still get better. They need to get stronger. I think Gregory will be gone and I was once against losing him, but now I think they need someone smarter to replace him. He gets caught inside too much and commits dumb penalties. I think Joseph will be a better cover corner than Diggs next year. Diggs was a major disappointment yesterday allowing a few big plays. I would re-sign Hooker and Kearse at safety if they take a reasonable price. But unfortunately Gregory and Armstrong are both free agents so DE may be a priority too.

The biggest problem with the Cowboys is not their players. It is their coaches. McCarthy saying he thought the refs would let them play is all you need to know why the players don't take the penalties seriously. I would fire McCarthy. Seems like an okay guy, but not the right guy for the Cowboys. I would also let Kellen Moore go to any team that would take him. We need a smarter more creative OC. Moore's reputation is more about the Jones hype machine than anything he has done on the field. Sure, the Cowboys have the #1 offense in the league but what do they do against the better defenses? Nothing. I am not a fan of promoting Quinn to HC. The defense looks a little better than the offense but not by much. When they needed a stop in the 4th quarter, the defense gave up multiple first downs by penalty. Wasted clock when they needed the ball back. Plus Quinn's defense lives on turnovers. If the opposing team protects the ball the defense cannot really stop them. I don't care what the media says, the 49ers are not a great team. Garoppolo is certainly not a great QB. The 49ers are well coached and it showed against the Cowboys.

Looking at the Cowboys now, I do not see how they repeat as division champs in 2022.

Online is average, maybe a little better. Should be able to do better than we are. Aren’t getting the ball to playmakers. QB has to be able to make more plays. And we need to get pollard way more touches

I think Center and RG are OK for awhile. LT ok as long as we have a grooming LT in the wings. LG has to be addressed.

Kinnard OT/OG
Kirkland OG
Green OG
Maxwell OT
Penning OT
Are the only Names I'm looking at.

We need some nasty players to come in and push these guys.

We land atleast two of these guys we are solid going forward.

A majority of the problems are pretty simple that a solid offensive minded coach could change.

Long developing pass plays is our biggest issue. How many times have we played guys like Jimmy G., Kyler Murray etc. and we don't even touch them. Quick developing passes is the key. Let Dak drop back, 2-3 steps and hit the slant, screen, post etc. All of these long timing vertical routes just kill us.

It's the JG influence on KM. I've been saying this since Romo days when he used to get killed by better defenses waiting for the long play to develop.
