Agreed, and maybe a new offense could do some good. Too much Garrett still in this offense. That's also partly why I want Nagy as OC. It gets us someone from the Reid tree, meaning we can shift more to a Reid offense away from a Garrett offense.

100% agree I dont get how people dont see this no drag routes, no rub routes, tons of 8 yard dig routes all staples of JG play book.

Exactly, and I mean, sure. Nagy may not be the best option, but the idea is to get a Reid coach that way to get this team away from Garrett. We're on Garrett-Lite. We need something new.

I hope someone with CONSISTENT playcalling. Not an OC who is aggressive and creative one week, then the next calls plays like we've got the 5th string water boy behind center, and returns to running the ball up the gut on first downs.
Consistent is easy to figure out and scheme against isn’t it

Doesn't matter who the coaches are if they can't instill discipline. (I am not sure between the salary cap and Jerry's interference this can happen.)
Great coaches motivate, discipline, teach and monitor individual needs......
They also have the ability to eliminate friends/family bias and get a true evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of their own team.

I haven't seen many great coaches these days..........too many buddies.

Then y'all would complain about three yards and a cloud of dust.

A good ground game is important though. Especially as the games get colder. There seems to be a resurgence of running the ball, and we need to do so. Additionally, Frank Smith is an online coach, so he'd be a key cog like Callahan was to us fixing this o line.

I actually think Kellen Moore is a good offensive coordinator and I'd like to see him stay with the Cowboys. Should he leave to pursue other opportunities I'd call Chris Petersen to judge his interest.

As far as I'm concerned, Moore can go. A new OC is needed. Here are a few options in no particular order of my thoughts and from the above link:

  • Matt Nagy - Horrible HC, but he was a good coordinator in KC, is of the Andy Reid tree (massive upgrade over the Garrett tree), and specialises in QBs. Also, he wasn't afraid to run it even in Chicago.
  • Josh Gattis, University of Michigan OC: Named the top assistant coach in the nation this year, Gattis has put together an impressive resume in just a decade in coaching. I'd love to see him in the mix, especially after how Michigan looked this season.
  • Frank Smith, Chargers OL coach/run game coordinator: Before joining the Chargers he was the position coach for Darren Waller in Vegas. I'd potentially choose him because online is the name of his game and he likes to run the ball. We need to run the ball more. So, he could influence some better run games and the overhaul of our oline.
These are some options that I saw and that I could think of that I liked. Who would you all go with?
If you have dumb players you will continue to have dumb mistakes, no coach will make a difference in that

LOL.

Fire McCarthy and start over. That's the only solution here. McCarthy will continue to screw things up regardless of who his OC is.

They definitely need to go ahead and cut the fat. McCarthy is a toad on a log.

Matt Nagy? but no mention of Bienemy or Leftwich, even if it was to place a higher value on their role?

Uh...did you see his playcalling in the playoffs? Or even against the Cardinals? He's a mediocre OC...capable of beating up trash defenses. He's not good..yet. He may or may never be. His playcalling in too many games this season was inexcusable.

We already have an offensive guy, and that's the HC. Let him run his offense without forcing the offense and OC the current QB is "comfortable" with.

Then if the O still underperforms, you can fire him and get someone else. But let him do his thing before you get rid of him.

He's not perfect, but he's young and talented. I see that his philosophy has put the team in favorable positions that have been wasted due to incompetence and undisciplined play. I do not think he's ready to lead his own team, but my wish would be for Petersen to be head coach and Moore to be his OC.
