Does anyone think Dak is better than Romo was?

or his OL, and his centers lol remember all the bad snaps?? early, over his head too.
Lol how can anyone forget? A handful of his highlights are running to the backfield to retrieve a snap thrown over his head and still making a miracle out of it.

Well I was thinking of romo with THIS TEAM not those past teams.
the wash game you refer to was with a crap team, that int doesnt ever happen if that team had been better. even if they beat wash they would have gone
nowhere in playoffs.
If you recall 2017, when we had some oline injuries and we ended up not scoring a TD for 3 games in a row.....THAT is what the 2012 team reminded me of.
lol
that was a 4-12 team that somehow made it to 8-8

Then the next year, we still had a crap line but better than 2012 and trending up, but the defense was ranked 32nd...so worst in Dallas history (ratings-wise)
And they too somehow managed 8-8

I believe the biggest issue with Dak is the OL. This OL is not good! It’s greatly declined since Dak’s rookie year. Some of Romo’s issues earlier in his career were due to the OL. His December/January struggles started to end once the OL improved. For Dak to bounce back next season we need to fix the OL. We have to improve the pass protection and the run blocking. We have to get a consistent running game.

Where did he choke. He was actually better than Garoppolo. He had to make up over 100 yards and penalties. On offense and defense. Just because you might not appreciate the quarterback. Look at the entire picture if you can
Lol..you must be blind

Can't keep fixing something that he broke, the 40mil a year means less money to around. Offense doesn't win games, defense does. The money needs to go to defense to keep improving it. This was the biggest improvememt from last year which shows what a good defense does. Doesn't really matter bc we don't have any money due to this huge overpaid contract.

I agree about Romo, smarter Football IQ and better passer. he also stood in the pocket to take hits to get the ball completed, lets not forget that.

I am left wondering if Romo be a QB coach for Dallas. He could impart some wisdom to Dak perhaps. he certainly knows the game and situations.

No way Tony is leaving his cushy job at CBS to become a full time coach in any capacity. He gets to play golf, hang out with his wife and kids and do whatever else he wants. A commitment to coaching is a full time job x 2.

He didn’t break it. You have to pay a QB these days or you’ll have bigger problems. Connor Williams was a second round pick that hasn’t panned out very well. Collins missed all of 2020 and hasn’t looked good this season. We could’ve drafted Slater in the first round last April who’s had a terrific rookie season on the OL but we had major defensive issues. Tyron can’t stay healthy and didn’t look good yesterday. We’re going to have to put some money in the OL. We have to protect our QB and give him a running game. A lot of the running game issues have been a product of our declining OL.

I'm really happy for Romo right now. Universally loved as the best NFL commentator because of his incredible knowledge of the game and he can slowly erase the damage that Jerry Jones did to his career.
Only people that don't remember how terrible most of the teams Romo played on would think that Dak is better.

I was livid when Romo wasn't even given a chance to compete in 16 and basically tossed to the curb like yesterday's trash. I mean Romo had his bad games. But to me,Tony was definitely a smarter QB as well as a better passer. Seemed to make lesser WRs better. Dak should be all world with this talent and he's not. He's an average QB propped up by the talent of the roster. Give him lesser receivers he's below average.

Agreed,,, and this is the origins of the Dak debate. People were trashing and disrespecting Romo and it made a lot of fans angry. Dak showed flashes but he was by no means a proven commodity, people just expected that he'd eventually be able to calm down and read defenses quickly,,,, but as we've been shown this ability is by no means guaranteed to anyone.

We win yesterday’s game by 2 scores with prime Romo.
I can counter by saying, we would have won by 2 scores with a PRIMED Dak. Do you think Dak is healthy?? Publicly he says everything is fine and his calf is NOT an issue, but since that NE Pats. game he hasn't been the same. Not only is he HESITANT and sometimes RELUCTANT to run, but also his passes have been off target because he can't throw the ball WITH FORCE because of that leg. Romo was a HEAD CASE and MENTALLY WEAK.. Dak's problem is PHYSICAL.

Ya the best way to get over a loss with a qb with 1-3 playoff record is reminisce bout the one that was 2-4

Whatever gets you through the night. Romo had his suck days as well but I’m sure the line problem is only valid when he’s the qb

He got picked up off the ground and thrown down in one game, with no flag.
Just a different era, though only about a decade ago.

QBs were at least protected more then than in the 70s, or even 90s
Now it's borderline cellophane wrap.

Yeah that game that ended Aikman career, he had a freaking dent in his helmet.

We're not whining. We've accepted the fate of another wasted season. The ones who are whining is on the thread blaming the Ref for Dak's folly.
So why watch? Why follow? Go follow another team. Don't you get tired of y'all's daily/yearly whining?

And, yes, the refs have contributed to game losses. That's a fact.

Romo did have some great #1 at various points of his career. Terry Glenn was Clutch, He had TO, And before all the Hamstrings Injuries Miles Austin looked like he would have done better here than TO, and then of course Dez. But Romo never had a worthy number 2 and number three like you have now. For the longest time I thought that Dez was going to be more like Alvin Harper than Irvin, one big play maybe in a game and then you wouldn't hear from him again. I think he did elevate in 2014, but never was the same after the injury.
none of these guys are #1 with Dak at QB. Dak turns all his receivers into #2s

Also Dak has to improve his accuracy, reading defenses, and have better pocket awareness.
