That is really the problem. Dak never escapes the pocket-he just stands there as the pressure comes. When he finally decides to move it is too late!
The problem is the O line, then Dak.

What do you all say about the O lines run blocking? Is that Dak’s fault?

When that list was done the stat sheet technically looked good.

Passing wise the offensive line wasn't even ranked in the top 20 in sacks allowed or pressures allowed

Rushing wise Pollard and Zeke at the time of that list were combined 292 attempts for 1412 yards (4.8 yards per attempted average).

Tuss that 4.2 is scwuede because Pollard average so high....and that is because Pollard is so talented and better be our no. # 1 next season for Zeke is washed up and if we are smart we will eat the money just

to or trade him....and pay him to play for someone else

Exactly.

Look at Rodgers a few weeks ago, 4 of his lineman where backups and it didn't matter. 3 step drop and the ball was out or he took off running.

None of this 7 step drops with spastic twitching and staring down receivers.
Yeah , Rogers looked great when Tampa Bay put some pressure on him last year. All QB’s need some protection, even Rogers and Brady!

Sounds like the grades of Martin, Tyron and Steele are making up for how poor CW and Biadasz played.

That is the only possible explanation given all the penalties etc.
The other explanation: PFF is a joke. There I explained it for you.

And that's the problem with the eye test.

The average line could block for 3.2 seconds and the cowboys could be 3.7 which is way above the average but if your quarterback holds the ball for 5 seconds all of these forum warriors will go "uhhh o-line is slacking"

Same with running, you can telegraph a slow Zeke run up the middle against a stacked box and once again those forum warriors will be like "uhhh why isn't there running lanes" (mmm I wonder why ?)
With the eye test you can see if the QB is holding the ball to long! Du

Let PFF hold your hand and make your decisions for you.

This is true on occasion, but the line sucks, you have to admit that. We couldn’t run the ball and Dak was sacked, or hit, on half his pass attempts!!!

sp ticked off at cowboys..i am 50+ year fan since Jan 1971....we wont have decent general manager until Jerry passes away....he hangs onto puppets too long and over pays everyone and they always

i mean always underperform with exception of RT Smith and LG Martin and Smith guaranteed to miss 3-4 games annually...we better use our draft to pick O lineman for future and D lineman

and try to keep as many playmakers as we can both offense and defense....i so wish we just cut McCarthey the biggest puppet even more than Garrett except McCarthey stay out of the way more

wish so bad we hire Quinn or pay him like super good head coach and promise him the reigns soon....you can always tell the managerial affect of coaching by number of penalties...we were the worst

Gregory has to put a lid on his anger....tacking a d lineman in front of refs sheer stupidity...but Jerry willl let it all ride and allow the good coaches to be poached i.e. Quinn...they can have Moore i no

longer have any respect for his scheming or in-game adustments....why game after game does it take Dak into 4th quarter to play competent?.....all on coaching 100%

PFF is a joke and always will be

This is what happens when you put 5 mathematics phd nerds in a room with 0 football experience - over-analyzation of numbers and no game knowledge

You have to be drunk or on some schedule I drugs to even peruse the thought this Cowboys Oline - with their performance last night, is even sniffing the top 5 in OL.
Average at best
I can see, you us YOUR own eyes to watch the game. I would say below average at best, especially vs good defenses.

Bingo. PFF doesn't consider quality of opponent or context of the game. They come up with this number b/c they grade every play. So, the trash game we played against AZ gets more than offset by the 50+ we put up on the Eagles preseason level defense the next week. PFF doesn't account for the fact the Eagles were resting many starters and had nothing to gain. Grade is a grade.

As long as you understand this, you can put PFFs grade into a proper context.
Proper context! In no context were they EVER the #1 O line this year. Not even close.

Contextually, PFF is a big fat joke!!!!!!

The other issue which Sturm sums up nicely is this offense doesn't do the line or Dak any favors.

Teams figured out they can get stop the run and pressure Dak without blitzing or having extra men in the box and the design of this offense requires a lot of time for plays to develop down the field. Kellen Moore's only answer to this was to run 10 bubble screens a game and it was ineffective. When they played teams in the division that couldn't rush the passer Dak carved them up and had a ton of chunk plays.

They needed more quick passes to get the ball out.

PFF has become clickbait to increase their engagement at all costs. They know any hot take about Dallas will bring in fans and haters. It's smart but not for me.

Never understood why analyst, media and fans; stand by PFF. Just another platform to throw out useless rankings.

He is 100% correct. There is nothing, I mean ZERO, creative about this offense or play-calling. KM was retained after Garrett to maintain consistency, status quo if you will. But that’s exactly what needs to change.
