Ha...I dig Mr. TheMightyVanHalen.

My..comeback....has to do with I do believe Romo elevated receiver play. Granted, Owens had success. Witten and Dez are unknown. I'll give Witten the pass at raiders ...just because.

So few receivers had success elsewhere...I stand on firm ground. The best shot was Miles...and....injuries or not...a flame out.

I do not believe Dak has the same touch about it. Dak is throwing to some pretty good WR....not Patrick Crayton or Sam Hurd. And having trouble at times....to my eyes.

Not entirely his fault...the team has some systemic dysfunction. But some throws you just GOT to make to help your case! The O.T one on Thanksgiving Day...for example.

Fair enough.

I'll only add this. I would take T.O over all 3 of our starters put together. He's top-3 all time WR in my book. I'm not 100 percent completely sold anyone accept Parsons.

You can’t compare the 2.

Dak could win a Super Bowl. He still doesn’t have the skill to throw a football and read a defense like Romo does.

Is he a better leader than Romo? Sure.. Better intangibles? Sure.

But as far as the natural ability to fling a football you can’t compare them.
So what held Romo back? It sure wasn’t the talent around him. Once upon a time he had the #1 seeded team and the #1 offense. And frankly, I saw better run game from lower es hell on backs because Romo didn’t have a coordinator who wouldn’t even try to run the ball.

Did Romo ever have a defense that produced that many turnovers for the offense? I think the answer is an absolute no. Romo had two good defenses in his time in Dallas, 2007 and 2009 I believe.

Both my brother in-laws are not a fan of either. I said I wonder what would happen if Romo had a defense like this, meaning all these turnovers. They laughed and said he always had a good defense. But I didn't believe him so he looked it up. He said, and I didn't call him out on it asking to show me his phone for proof, Romo had 5 top-10 defenses. I'm not looking it up because I don't care. I'm a fan of both. I got banned at the main board in 2007 by Quickdraw when he was a moderato there for attacking a Romo hater after that 2007 disaster, which wasn't entirely his fault. And I'm probably going to get band here too! Lol

David Lee Roth over Sammy….

You alright! ;) KISS is my second favorite band. My first 3 concerts was in 1979. First was the VHII tour, then KISS Dynasty tour and then Judas Priest. To this day those 3 are still in my top-3. The last concert we went to was the "End of the Road" tour. Great show!

Yes, he did. In 2014 the Cowboys had 31 takeaways in the 16 game regular season and 3 in the 2 playoff games for 35 total takeaways.

This season, the defense had 34 in the 17 regular season games and 1 in the playoff game.

Both defenses had 35 total in 18 games played.

LOL right lol...Romo had 12 Pro Bowlers one year but people want to pretend like he had no talent. The same year he had 12 Pro Bowlers they lost in the 1st round to a Giants team that barely got into the playoffs just like this 9ers team barely got into the playoffs lol.
Didn't that Giants team beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl?

rocyaice is a sincere moron. He’s admitted he doesn’t watch the NFL and is a Dak fan more than he is a Cowboys fan.

Of course he didn’t realize that Giants team went on to win the Super Bowl which makes it all the more comical.

Yea, just trying to help set it straight. The silver lining was that the Pats lost that SB. To be honest, I personally don't think Dallas could have beaten the Pats that year. They lost to them handily in the regular season. Also, the cowboys didn't have the insane dline that the Giants had to pull it off.

Didn't realize the 2014 Cowboys defense had that many takeaways. It just was another aspect of the Cowboys 2014 team which tends to be downplayed or forgotten about.

There are a lot of things that have been said so many times over the years that are just assumed to be true. We want to think of Romo’s defenses as being closer to 2013 or the offense line being 2011 bad, or that he didn’t have a run game until 2014, or TO was ineffective in the 2007 playoff game. All of which are exaggerated to a certain extent, probably to make Romo’s mountains he had to climb higher than they actually were.

At the same time, Dak's supporting cast has been getting downplayed. I was surprised to find Tony only had 1 season with a top 10 defense. Dak's had a top 10 defense 3 of his 6 years.

I know I know... there are other, "better," metrics than yards allowed, and the running game from previous years protected them, but still... listening to his fans you'd think he was playing behind Phil Costa and lining up last year's defense every year.

Romo really didn't have a "natural" ability to fling the football either.

He's admitted numerous times that he had to work extra hard on his throwing just to catch up.

Romo had a much higher ceiling for improvement in that area than Dak does, though.

Romo had his strengths and limitations, the same as Dak. Both great outside the pocket early in their careers. Also both having problems in the pocket. For Romo, he took too many risks and lost too many balls, while Dak plays too conservatively, and takes too many sacks.

Romo played his best ball in 2014. Always improving. Daks has similarly always improved.

Dak's failing is not seeing the whole field. Big limitation for a QB. Don't think that was ever an issue for Romo. And it is likely that Dak's injury will hamper him for the rest of his career. His proprioception in his foot is likely permanently reduced. That affects everything.

I think they built a heck of a roster. Most NFL rosters are the same and I do think we have a cut above.

Where I think they messed up is signing a Runningback to a big deal and paying a 25 mill a year QB like he’s the best quarterback in football.

Now the team around Dak will dwindle and he is not good enough to put the team on his back.

They should’ve focused on the entire roster until they had the right QB.

I wish they would’ve let Dak hit the open market. That’s what really needed to happen.

If a team was dumb enough to pay him top dollar so be it. Let them be the fools.
I never would have paid Zeke — but then we never should have drafted him either if we weren’t going to pay him. Dak, I’m not sure what the alternative was.
