Thanks for the reminder, but you speak the truth.
If we ever depended on Will McClay before, Oh Boy do we depend on him now.
Its going to be all about having superb drafting, and trying our best to acquire more draft picks, and hitting on a couple UDFAs as well.
Really great drafting has kept us competitive and covered some horrendous contracts that should never have been given.

Hope Dak enjoys the career of a Dallas Cowboy, get paid win nothing

Well, that's most QBs, so... Can't hate on Dak on being a good negotiator. Lots of QBs have been paid a lot of money, and won zippo.

I mean we have a new coach who I’m sure has some say in free agency. For a decade prior we had Garrett - you can whine and cry about something that may happen and maybe you’ll be right but MM I’m sure had some say in last years signings and they did well in his first real offseason.
Yep, last years free agent class were the first I can remember that was not a complete dumpster fire and one of the reasons our defense was greatly improved

Stephen has already said we will not be players in Free Agency.

We are currently over the salary cap.

We have several bloated contracts for players who are not producing at their level of pay.
Some we cant afford to trade or cut because of their cap hits,
Zeke for example.

We have 21 Free Agents, many that were key contributors, most we wont be able to afford to resign.

Our only hope is the Draft and we will be picking much later, 24th, than last year, making it much more difficult to find impact players.

We continue having a GM in place that has repeatedly showed he is not competent to handle the duties of the job.

So buckle up for the Winter of discontentment my fellow Cowboys fans!

Probably doubtful too that we will come close in the defense forcing this many turnovers again next year.

I mean look at our drafts particular the top picks the last decade and see for yourself. It’s really really hard to win in the nfl. I don’t like Jerry speaking on the radio and he is stubborn but this fan base blames him for everything and unfortunately that’s just not true as much as it gets screamed

Actually, it is true. He installed himself and his son as the personnel department. They decide who to draft, who to give big contracts, and who coaches the team.

Jerry did that because he wants there to be no doubt who gets the credit for the next SB ring, which is his prerogative. But if you're going to run things that way, you also get the "credit" for 3 measly wild card round playoff wins in 25 years.

This isn't as hard as people are making it out to be.

Resign Anger Kearse Turner Armstrong

Trade Jarwin Brown Lewis Hill and Collins

Get some more early draft picks in trades above maybe adding some late picks fro. Next year.

Draft to fill needs.

Main point Diggs and Joseph need a mentor CB and that guy should be Pat Peterson. I would try and nab Okudah from the Lions aswell

It isn't remotely as simple as you're making it out to be.

Every year we get these "just draft this guy and sign that guy" posts yet the team goes nowhere.

Organizational dysfunction is not overcome so easily. We have 26 years of evidence to prove it.

Truthfully stated.
You get the credit for the bad as well as the good.

I'm afraid to say that its gonna be a lot longer than this winter my friend.

Need basically a whole new O-line, 2 DTs a LB and a free safety, thats gonna take a few years and by then Daks contract will be up and do we sign him again....doubtful.

I'm afraid to say its gonna be many more dark years ahead...

I’m not gonna let negative possibilities make me perpetually miserable. Life’s too short!

It's not worth speculating now how next season will turn out. Did we all expect we'll win 12 games this season after last year? I predicted 11 wins but I didn't think we would be this good when we won six in a row. I also didn't think we'll end up this bad after we beat the Patriots.

I’m ready for a blow it up season

Burn it down
I am too. Give me Parsons, Diggs and Martin and I have no emotional value to anyone else at this point. Actually if we could trade Diggs for 2 first round draft picks then do that. Diggs with his gaudy stats could get us some draft picks but he was average when not making the big play. But yeah, I'm ready to blow this up. These guys don't win big games. I feel it's not as much a talent things as a mental thing. They're just entitled. Parsons and Martin are the only ones I feel that don't act entitled. But yes blow this thing up, it's not working.

Ah.... the good old days of finishing 8-8, or 8-9, three years in a roll will definitely be a possibility.
Jason Garrett would be proud.
