We mention this time and again, then forget it, time and again.

We've been overrated for years because our division blows chunks. We rack up wins as a team, and stats as players.

If we want an honest evaluation versus the rest of the league, we should run all stats and PFF scores excluding division games.

The numbers will probably be eye-opening. I wonder if even Martin survives such an evaluation. I'm sure he's good, but really All Pro? All Pro based on games outside the division? I have my doubts.

Thank you, great post! It tells the true story about our Three Toe Sloth of a QB. I'm so tired of all the hoop law about Prescot's passing numbers, they're so untruthful. Prescot is a slug of a QB in a mediocre division....................

Certainly applies to Dak, but I expect that a lot of the players get downgraded in a big way in an out of division analysis.

Then the Packers feast on Lions Bears and 8-8 Vikings every season . Must pad those TD numbers of Rodgers. Then exhibit B is the Patriots going on bombs away runs against the wrecked jets the tepid Dolphins and until recently the Bills were usually comatose.

Let’s put it this way I hope the NFC East continues to do little home improvements while Dallas hangs 50 on the bums getting home playoff games. Now they have to advance from just going to the dance and actually do damage.

That they stink isn't the problem. That most people don't account for it when they evaluate Cowboy talent is.

Maybe you can look at it another way, when the Three Toe Sloth sweeps the East it will be your SB every year. Because the Three Toe Sloth isn't going to beat any of the good teams in the NFL......................

Three-toed sloth. That's hilarious. What makes you draw the comparison? He kind of behaves like one at times. Very timid. Dumb.

The Sloth is slow at everything he does in the pocket. I'm surprised the O-Line haven't pulled a "BLANKET PARTY" on him. The O-Line is getting hammered because the running game has all but disappeared and it's not their fault. The Sloth takes the snap and stands there surveying the field for ridiculous amounts of time. It's not like the Sloth is under 6 ft and can't see over his line, the dude is 6'4" tall and should see everything just fine. I would be surprised if the Cowboys employee anyone with pass catching abilities next season because the Sloth refuses to throw the dam ball and when this happens the O-Line has to stay on blocks for so long that they're forced to hold they're guy because the Sloth will be sacked if they don't . The 9ers came into the game with every intention to take away the run game and force the Three Toe Sloth to beat them. Well, you know what happen because the 9ers are moving on and Slothie is home counting the $75 million dollars he stole from the Cowboys this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6-0 in division
6-6 outside division
1 win against a 10 win team

The 2 playoff teams we beat Pats 10-8. Phil 9-9.
Both blown out in playoffs .

Maybe. But I’ve seen teams in mediocre divisions still win at all. Look at the Patriots dynasty.

I think we’re overrated because we are the Dallas Cowboys. I think Jerry Jones enables it. Even Aikman admitted the bias and said an average player can be a star on the Cowboys because of their popularity. I think other teams roll eyes and enjoy whipping our arse because of it.

But the Patriots winning percentage outside their division was almost identical to their division success in the high 70%. Which includes usually a 1st place schedule against the best teams in the conference.

You’re second paragraph is spot on.

One day one of these division teams is gonna find the next great qb. Then we are finished.

Rumors say that NY might land Watson and HC Flores but who knows.

Hate to be that guy, but when Romo was here we had Prime Eli, McNabb, Vick for that little stretch, pre injury RG3 and Cousins in our division. Much tougher competition than Dak has faced. I know Eli sucked, but he always brought his A game against us for some reason lol and he won 2 SBs in that span and i believe the Eagles made multiple Championship games in that span too. Whatever team won the East in those days was legit.

Both the Fteam and Giants have the resources to aquire a top QB if they want to we'll see how that goes.

You mean you weren't impressed by his 5 td performance against the eagles back up secondary?

The Giants and Eagles have won three Super Bowls in the last 15 years but I get where you are coming from. The bad quarterback play in the division hides are warts on defense. It also makes Dak look like Tom Brady in division games. The good news if Dak stays healthy we should win the division again next season.

It's shown the cowboys once again to be Fools Gold.

It goes beyond the record being inflated by going 6-0 or 5-1 in the division during good seasons. The problem lies in the lack of attention to details because the Cowboys get away with mistakes (missed FG, holds, false starts, clock management and bad playcalling) against the NFCE. You can do those things and still score 2 quick touchdowns against the divisional teams. Then, when you play actual decent teams those extra seconds and yards are crucial and cost you the game.
