Well it seems like Whitt would be the favorite or maybe Edwards if it is an internal promotion if Quinn leaves.

Just got to say after MM hired Nolan I wonder if the guys he wants are because they are the best for it or because they used to work together.

the bigger concern is who is going to fix this offense? a change needs to happen somewhere on the offensive side of the ball and an in house promotion isn’t the answer

Both had their moments but neither gave you that feeling of "our coordinators are better than yours" when playing other teams.

To be fair though, that is the case with most coordinators, but it still does not change the fact that it is true.

That is why I have said I hope they stay, but neither of them are irreplaceable.

In fact, it might be good to move away from the Garrett/Moore offense and find a coordinator that likes to play vertical given the receivers the Cowboys have and I doubt it would be hard to get a defensive coordinator that would be aggressive on defense with Parsons given what he did this season.

Bingo........We've been running this system/scheme 10+ years, too long, way to long.

For sure.

I mean I rather roll the dice on Nagy(I doubt he's a HC next year) than roll with someone McCarthy knew years back

And I don't really care for Nagy.

I mean, we are most likely going to get nothing. In order for there to be a change on offense , either MM or KM has to go. Unless somebody hires KM as a HC, neither is going to happen.

I'm putting Mike Zimmer name in the hat as a replacement........not sure many know but Mike is cut from the no-nonsense old school. Not afraid to keep players grounded.....Parcell style. IMO this is exactly the type of coordinator this team needs coz I'm not sure MM is up to the task. His former DC ( Edward ) is already on staff. In fact, now that I thinking about it, can't see why he would not be at the TOP of the list.

I think Cowboyny makes a good point.......we could very see a major change toward the WCO.

Yea, sorry should of been clearer. This was under the assumption at least Moore left and the ownership wanted someone more "proven" as an OC than another MM nepotism hire.

Sort of like the Quinn hiring.

That's a fair assessment. I really thought KM's game planning would excel as the season went forward.
No matter the source of failure, (player inadequacy or lack of imagination,) it did not.
There was magic in the defense in some games, and then, it too came up short.
Kick the tires on some new coordinators and let the chips fall where they may.

Meh, get Fangio.

I think Fangio goes 3-4 to MAXIMIZE Micah's gifts. HE can ABSOLUTELY do the same things Watt and Von Miller do. Also, I see similarities in the builds and talents of his starters at 5T for Denver and the guys that could do it in Dallas (Shelby Harris and D. Jones are similar in traits to Gallimore and Osa).

Does anyone else not care if either of these coordinators get hired?

I don’t.

Dan Quinn did a nice job but when Lawrence came back he did not use Parsons in a way that he could impact a game since we came back from Washington.

I do - I want to keep Quinn - I cant even remember the last time our Defense looked this good. Mid 90's?

Big woop they can both hit the road. It is classic Dallas Cowboys madness. Someone does a half way decent job and we suddenly can't possibly live without them. Imagine if we ever actually won a superbowl. Literally every coach and player would instantly be given lifetime contracts at max salary.

Its also likely that the bigger problem is meddling by the owner/GM to push for his favored players to get their snaps no matter the outcome.
