Where are you guys at when it comes to caring about the regular season moving forward?

For me it’s just ruined. There is nothing we can really learn about this team that would give me any confidence headed into the playoffs.

If you want to get hyped by Dallas beating bad teams and brag about their stats then be my guest but unfortunately for the Cowboys they won’t get to play many bad playoff teams.

I think Jerry has to do something that will get fans at least interested in regular season football again and just a status quo off-season with no real acquisitions but rookies is not going to cut it.

He has to find a way to give fans hope and right now it looks like the plan is to do nothing and just line up and try the same thing.

I mean since they only play once a week it's meaningful in some degree.

But, once they are in a playoff spot my mindset is they'll blow it in the postseason until I see some type of change somewhere that this curse is lifted.

Yeah because they have to make it to the playoffs by winning at least 10 games. The Cowboys now have to beat the quality games on their schedule. We play Green Bay, Tampa, Rams, and Cincinnati. Let’s try to have a winning record in those games. That will show some hope.

For me I just don’t think I can ever buy into them based on regular season performance.
I never do.

This team has earned nothing. But just wait, if we make it next year you'll have the same ole' people saying " This is a different group. They can't be held responsible for past teams" blah blah blah.

If they don't want to be associated with past Cowboys teams then prove it on the field when it matters.

Jaylon is gone so that helps a lot. I will certainly enjoy watching Parsons and Diggs. Hopefully Jayron will be back on a reasonable deal. Would be great to get rid of clow show D Flaw and drug boy Randy.

The offense will be hard to watch. Another year of fat Zeke will be painful. Hopefully they go all out on the O line and Dak can get the help he needs.

For the better part of the past three decades, they have been the most consistent team in the league in terms of big game chokes. For the first time in 50 years I didn’t watch a Cowboys’ playoff game because I knew for certain that they’d choke it away.

I'm as crushed as anyone at the way the season ended, but I'll be right back in my seat for the draft, minicamps, training camp, pre-season and regular season.

I think the lesson I'll take from it is that how a team is playing at the end of the season really does matter. Look no farther than the playoff exit. Dallas may have the better collection of players and better accumulated stats, but they were not playing anywhere near the level they started the season at. There's clearly no switch they can hit to just bring it all together because it's more important in the playoffs. The 49ers on the other hand, just barely managed to make the playoffs, but they ended the season on a surge and carried that into Dallas.

For me, every year is a new year and there is enjoyment in seeing how that plays out. Hell, this year was clearly different than last.

It's not about getting hyped about beating bad teams, it's about seeing how things play out.

Seems fans are lazy. They want to know in advance, and that's not reality. The fun in the regular season is not knowing in advance and finding out as you go.

Of course that can be frustrating as hell also, but that goes with the territory. Fandom doesn't come with guarantees.

I don't quite understand why a person would watch at all if they couldn't muster some interest in the new season.

I don't understand this mentality. I can't imagine calling myself a fan of a team and choosing not to watch a playoff game because they might lose.

i would say yes. Just to see if there is consistency and the ability to adjust. After that Denver demolition I think many of us, including myself saw a team that could not get off the matt when punched in the mouth and could not “figure it out” when a team had a good game plan. We kind of knew there was a ceiling with this team.

I don’t get excited like I used too. I can easily walk away from a game nowadays and go do something else, one of the reasons being this exact same original post.

I can change the channel to watch Herbert play on CBS, while Dak is moving like a robot on Fox.

It’ll be “meaningful “ because it determines seeding but I will not really expect anything good until we win at least 2 playoff games back to back

we will sweep NFCE again so that’s 6 wins.
