My take -

Home: Eagles, Giants, Washington, Bears, Lions, Bucs, Colts, Texans, Bengals

Away: Eagles, Giants, Washington, Packers, Vikings, Rams, Jaguars, Titans

How well we play against the teams bolded (give or take because things change of course) matters a ton to me.If these teams are good again next year and we perform against them it means something. If we lose to them and beat up the Bears, Lions and NFCE I won't fall for it.

Says you in retrospect.
Not really, and it’s not whether they win or not. They have consistently been unprepared / undisciplined / sloppy / stupid in the playoffs often choking horribly against opponents that they’ve handled during the regular season. This QB Coaching Front office combination will likely never win a playoff game and certainly not an NFC championship, it’s literally impossible.

Catch I posted this the other day. We can go 17-0 and I will still not be confident going into the playoffs. This team ALWAYS fails on all levels in big games…..ALWAYS!

Where are you guys at when it comes to caring about the regular season moving forward?

For me it’s just ruined. There is nothing we can really learn about this team that would give me any confidence headed into the playoffs.

If you want to get hyped by Dallas beating bad teams and brag about their stats then be my guest but unfortunately for the Cowboys they won’t get to play many bad playoff teams.

I think Jerry has to do something that will get fans at least interested in regular season football again and just a status quo off-season with no real acquisitions but rookies is not going to cut it.

He has to find a way to give fans hope and right now it looks like the plan is to do nothing and just line up and try the same thing.

I intend to re-watch the regular season as a binge watch to see if I can figure out what went wrong. At first, this team looked great and like a powerhouse that had a great chance to go to the Super Bowl. Even that first game, which was a loss to the Bucs, showed a team playing really well that got edged out by a great team. The crash seemed to start with the Broncos game. I could not believe that they suddenly played so bad. After that we had some big victories over sub-par team like the Falcons and WFT, but the team was never the same. I'm not sure why.

I was talking to my wife about this very same thing….I’m not sure. We play GB, Cincy, and Tenny next year off the top of my head and if we can beat them I will feel better. Beating good teams build confidence. I wish the regular season started tomorrow.

 sounds about right....i think the Colts and the Vikings could also be a pain in the arse for the Cowboys. They could easily lose every one of those games next season.

I’m sorry this team could go 14-3 and get a bye. I still wouldn’t trust them in the playoffs
this is unfortunately where I'm at now too

and I wasn't like this at all this season.. I tried to maintain positivity and shout down the "haters", etc

now? screw it.

I momentarily felt that way after the Pats game, I still have that and the Minny game recorded, amazing - it felt like a different team.

…..one hopes you may realize now that the alleged “haters” were merely well informed, and well meaning fellow fans that were playing devils advocate to the fairly dust that was being sprinkled around here

it wasn’t meant to incite bickering or blow up threads….it was only to meant to show that the strength of the opponents we beat was not indicative of how we would do against strong teams in the playoffs

unfortunately for all of us it turned out to be correct…..but there was never anything approaching hatred…….just honesty in our evaluations of the teams capabilities

as much as a I disagree with you, there will definitely be an element in which next year is all about the post season. If they go 13-4 and have big wins with a 1st place schedule- it won’t matter unless they get postseason wins. That’s us tho, for the most part everyone will still watch.

Next year mm has to win the division again, win 10-12 games, get some signature wins in the regular season and minimum nfc championship game. Really that’s it or he’s out if I’m coach.

Next years schedule should be brutal. If they somehow beat Green Bay, Rams, etc. then maybe I’ll be more in on them. Otherwise it’s just more of the same.

I mean we argued this year about quality wins but looking back we had none.

Even the playoff teams we beat were throttled in the playoffs.

The real question is will the regular season be meaningful for the players? The Cowboys have had trouble for years staying motivated. We’ve had a number of up-and-down seasons. We were consistent for the first half of this season and became inconsistent the second half and it carried into the playoffs. This team couldn’t even get up for a playoff game at home. All the home teams in the first round of the playoffs looked inspired but us. The longer regular seasons are just going make it tougher for the players to stay motivated all season. Every team hits a couple of bumps during a season but when we hit one we can’t get back on track. I’ll always enjoy watching regular season games but I’ve pretty much lost all hope the Cowboys will ever reach another Super Bowl during my lifetime. I’ll be okay with it because I’ve seen them win all 5 of their championships.

For the last 10 years or so I take whatever this team does with a grain of salt. It's actually getting to be comical how the jerry led clown show finds newer and more embarrassing ways to lose. I mean, we all know what the problem is and the sad part of it all is that it can't be changed.

Other than what we had going on defense at certain times this year things haven't changed from the Wade or Garrett years.

Next year with a 1st place schedule means like 6-7 wins.

McCarthy will get fired, Quinn will be elsewhere and Jerry has the excuse to elevate his next self picked genius.

Just a disgusting appetizer to attempting to replace Prescott for years and years.

You need to be very very very lucky to land in a situation to land a franchise QB and we have NONE of that.

The more games they add to the regular season the more it increases the the odds the Cowboys will continue to sputter out late in the year. Had the playoffs started after the first seven games this season I would’ve liked our chances. The Cowboys were a very good team early in the season.
