Basham should be cut and let Gregory walk if he doesn’t take home town discount

Basham only saves you around $1.75 to release. You’re paying a rookie between 800-600k. The savings is minimal for a solid depth player.

Guys like Lewis, Greg Z, Brown and Jarwin can net you up to around $14 million in space
Basham didn’t play that well. Gregory played well at times but he is clearly a bone head.

I’m ok whatever they decide on Gregory. He can stay or go. But no way I give him a big contract

These two guys padded their stats vs below .500 teams, and when you needed them most they coat the teams with dumb penalties and zero sacks or pressure.

Front office can’t reward mediocrity.
As usual, you are playing your role as a distracted fan not focusing on the 400 lb gorilla in the room. Getting rid of those players will make little difference to the overall performance of the defense. You are just doing what you do... nitpick.

I won't miss Gregory. I'm sure we can find someone else to take multiple penalties in a game and smile about it. Unfortunately, we don't have many players who can sniff the QB either, but that really won't matter next season.

Why? Basham is a nice rotational pass rusher, and is paid as such. We do need a complete stud at DE, and DT also for that matter, but how is cutting a low paid rotational pass rusher going to solve anything?

Not getting your thinking on this one.

Some of you guys better hope Gregory gets a huge outside offer he can’t turn down, because I’ll guarantee you he’s the #1 FA priority in Dallas.

We gotta hope some other team saves Dallas from a mistake, hopefully the Jaguars, I'm sure they have enough cap room

If I were Gregory, or any other Cowboys player, I would run to free agency or welcome a trade.

You need guys like basham to fill out your roster. Not every player on your team will be elite, that's a foolish expectation. Yes he needs to be better but hes not terrible for what you are paying him.

I think this team would be smart to let Gregory walk. He freelances way too much especially when playing the run. He will make some big TFLs because of it but more often than not he runs himself straight out of the play. His pass rush is above average but quite frankly he is undisciplined and a penalty machine. He also is not particularly young and I imagine in a year or two could already start to decline athletically.
yeah I would let him walk if he doesnt take my cheap offer.
but you know jerry, he will signe him to some mega deal.
