Stop looking at Dak! Deflect Deflect

We need to replace our 30 year old future HOF tackle b/c ............. Dak needs a HOF caliber LT 17 games to be good. Yeah, then he'll show up in the playoffs.

Uh...dude, there can be discussions about what's wrong besides Dak. There is no shortage of players playing poorly when it matters on the team. Dak didn't lose the playoff game by himself. He contributed but there was a lot of bad playing and play-calling everywhere.

You are 100% on point and I have also been saying Tyron Smith has been unreliable/injury prone and over hyped for 3 seasons now, but I get bashed for it.. Unfortunately there are too many Tyron Smith apologists out there and his contract has a bit to do with no being able to let him go as well. I long for the day when we move on from Tyron Smith.

You aren't replacing a pro-bowl LT that is 30 years old. Smith could easily have 5-7 years left in the NFL with how OL last. He doesn't need to be playing at a top 3 level to be valuable. You folks don't know football. Go get another hobby.

Well until the team addresses the LT spot, long term, I hope they don't go the route of cutting Smith and praying they can find a suitable LT just like that.

Even if they were to draft a Cross/Penning LT in the draft, counting on them day 1 for 17 games is quite the hopeful approach.
Smith is what he is. A very good LT that gives on average 12-13 games a year where Dak's blindside is safe.

I'm all for drafting his replacement and grooming them to take over/compete

he is great. all pro or second all pro when he is available. but as you said, he has missed games every year over past few years..

and it ain't getting better. we have to look for the next LT....
