Hell no

Same D playafter play

Parsons will NOT be utilized correctly or imaginatively

NO TO ZIMMER
I seriously doubt Zimmer would come back....17 years here was enough time for him to figure out...your not going to change the circus atmosphere as long as Jerry is still in charge.

Why not this guy? He could be an option.

I really can’t speak to the relationship tbh. I’d assume if him and zimmer were close you could make zimmer d coordinator and keep edwards in his senior defensive assistant role. Again, I don’t know if edwards would go for that or if the cowboys want that but if the working relationship is a good one it could benefit us.
I tried to find some material to see what kind of terms they were on. Nada

coming off a 12-5 season in a pivotal year isn’t the time to take chances.

I disagree, IMO, getting bounced at home in the first round of the playoffs on top of the lack of playoff success the past 25 years is.

You are trying to build off this years team. Off the defenses improvement and ride that momentum into next year and carry it over and be better with internal improvement. You don’t put that in the hands of a coach whose never coached or called a game before.

the cowboys are trying to build sustained success- what happened the past 25 years means jack ****. What happens moving forward off this season means everything.

Zimmer isnt my first choice, but I dont understand why people think this. Have you actually followed him, or are just going off of his time in Dallas. Zimmer has ran multiple front schemes many different years

Id probably rather have Whitt, but there is a weird narrative going around that Zimmer has always run vanilla defenses like he did under Parcells. Its false
Right, if I remember correctly Parcels had him running a 34 the last season he was here!

I like Mike Zimmer as a DC. He was one of the best defensive coaches Dallas has had in a long time. Is he still relevant? I don't know if he is, but when he coached the Dallas defense they were pretty much a bunch of JAGs yet the defense was nowhere near horrible. The only questions I have about Zimmer are can he still do it? Does he want to?

We can agree to disagree, just because a coach was previously a D-coordinator doesn't mean he will have success (see Mike Nolan).

This team can build on and accomplish success moving forward with someone who can bring new and innovative schemes to this team.

But just Dan Quinn, .being an instant successful DC, in such a very short time, could also lead to another pathway back to Head Coaching again.

No thank you. No more Mike Nolan style boring defenses.

Nolan was anything but boring ... he was a wild circus show ringmaster, who wanted to be so complex, sophisticated that he hoped
to confuse the opposing offenses with his hybrid scheme but ended up just confusing not only himself, but most definitely his own players.

Mass confusion and frustration, he just wasn't a teacher and he never gained confidence and respect from his players

Say it with me: NO ONE PLAYS BASE 4-3 or 3-4!

Everyone is either in 4-2-5, 3-3-5 or 3-2-6 85% of the time.

My ignore list grows every year when discussing defensive scheme because people think 4-3 or 3-4 still matters. I honestly don’t know if Dallas played a single snap of 4-3 this year other than goalline situations. It was all 4-2-5.

Zimmer knows how the circus works. I doubt if he comes to Dallas if he gets another offer else where.
