No one has mentioned that in every single case that Warner talked about the scheme, it was a completed pass. That's not to say things can't be improved, but it also looks like a way to not come exclusively at the QB.

Tell me this- if the QB struggles to read a defense, what can you do as a coordinator to simplify it while remaining competitive.

Be prepared to be shouted down, bro. The QB can never be at fault apparently.

Copy how Sean McVay handled Jared Goff. You give Dak a bunch of looks in the immediate area and go from there.

We did that his rookie year. Teams catch on and take that stuff away. That's why the Rams never got as much success after the Super Bowl run with Goff.

Kurt Warner disagrees with your take on the 2nd throw. He covers it around 23:30 of the video.

Just shows you guys don't know when the ball is supposed to come out either.
Oh, I agree with Kurt Warner on that second throw. Dak could have thrown it sooner, but CeeDee also runs a sloppy route. Had CeeDee ran it harder and made a quicker and more crisp cut back, he would have been wide open.

He was wide open if the ball came out at the right time. It's a comeback route. Separation happens at the break.

Those plays never have existed in Dallas before.

That's why we're talking about it...something is way off. The play at the 20:00 minute mark , when the Safety turns his hips he's gotta hit that deep crossing pattern.
Dak's not even looking for it, that's weird for week 19
That falls on coaching.

Since you're talking about the 2nd play shown (there are 3 plays shown all together)...there was no separation at the break because of the sloppy route. That in and cut back out route was lazily run by CeeDee.

  • Can we bring Kurt out of retirement? We have the perfect storm...an OC with bad route designs and a QB who cant read the defense...great breakdown by Kurt....

Dak has to be being told something different than what Kurt Warner is pointing out, has to be.

If not you would have to trade the guy..it's his 6th year and that's rookie stuff
Agreed. It definitely falls on the coaching at this point. Even Jerry was frustrated today with the coaching after reviewing the playoff loss.

What type of plays are you talking about? They do quick screens and everybody hates them. They have drive concepts, but videos show those guys running open and Dak not seeing them. They put backs in the flats, they run hi/lo concepts like the corner/hitch/flat.

I mean, even in the video Warner "critiques," that play ran 3 times but says he likes the concept.

The in/out was the 3rd route. Not a great route but neither was the throw.

In no way, shape or form can you draw a parallel between McVey’s scheme with any that has been drawn up by Dallas coordinators.

It's the stuff he's always struggled with. The real question is why assume the professionals around him don't see it? Because it's year 6 and he's still struggling? Seems like the obvious answer would be correct.

You're right. It was the 3rd throw.

On the second route, that was pure laziness once again on CeeDee. He gave Dak no chance to complete that pass, hence why I've been saying most of the 2nd half of the season that WRs have mostly not been getting open.

Not what Kurt said. Again- 23:30 in the OP video

Play call and/or Scheme is bad half the time. Dak is bad the other half. Add it up. 100% suckage.
