Aikman has a whole team of people behind the scenes telling him what he needs to know so he sounds as good as he does. Not that he doesn’t know football but what you hear on TV is not a one for one with what would happen as a coach.
I understand your point, but Troy does play by play analysis, which requires a deep knowledge of the game. It doesn't necessarily translate to coaching, but he doesn't need anyone telling him what just happened on the field and why, or what a team needs to do.
One of the things he hated about having Switzer as a coach was that he, himself had to be the disciplinarian and keep the team in line. That doesn't sound like someone who would want to be a coach.

Some of us don't like him as a game announcer. Can't imagine him as coach

No doubt he has a deep understanding of the game. I just meant he relies on a lot of other people to give him tidbits of info and to help him look at tape throughout the week. He ends up doing two games a week. The analysis is all him, no doubt. Like you, I just don’t see that translating to being a HC.

Aikman is only good at running his mouth by tossing Jerry, MM & CeeDee under the bus. He thinks he's entitled to disrespecting this franchise being he once played for them.

He's very hateful. Wish he'd crawl under a rock already.

David Lafleur (1997 first round pick)is an example of why Aikman should not be allowed to assemble a team's roster.

Aikman doesn't strike me as having the temperament to be a coach. Many of the great ones don't.
Right, he's one of those guys who was so great and so talented as a player, I don't think he could handle players who couldn't do what he asked of them. Too frustrating.

Like you say, most great players don't make very good coaches. Larry Bird is one of the few I can think of.
