Either way if Sean steps down I’d bet he does tv for a year like the article mentions and then he’d return to coaching next season. So a big nothing burger likely

LOL .....talk about an offseason filled with drama. Let's not forget Harbaugh's hanging out there refusing to shut down rumors of his desire of returning to the NFL.

I know many love Payton, but his track record is almost the same as MM's, had a hall of fame QB, but yet has only been and won 1 SB. Had many chances, but came up short almost every time.

The Saints and Sean Payton agreed to a 5-year extension to his contract in 2021. So this talk of Payton not yet committed to the Saints is nonsense. Harbaugh wishes the Saints were interested in him. Keep dreaming pal.

So why do Payton’s offenses always collapse at the end of the season?

Since 2013 they’ve scored more than 24 once in a playoff game. That was 31 vs the Panthers in 2017. He thrives off playing in the best home field advantage in the league in the regular season.

He’s not an upgrade
So you wouldn't want SP calling the offense and working with Dak

Payton will cost a lot of money and just because Jerry says he’d pay a lot to win doesn’t mean he’s actually serious about that.

I’m not against him but I don’t think we’d see some revolution we haven’t seen already. How did Payton do with his QBs not named Brees this year?

Taysom Hill still isn’t anything more than a wildcat QB. He helped cut down Winston’s INTs but they weren’t lighting up the league even with him.

I wanna be a Cowboy. He wants to learn to rope and ride. Wearing that 6 (TD) shooter riding his Elliot and Pollard to a SB..

He almost made the playoffs with a backup and tailored the offense to fit what the WB is good at. He would help the offense out which is what WE needed. What is Dak good at and go from there. MM is just a manager who was afraid to take over play calling from a guy who was inexperienced and it showed heavily.

I bet Jerry is doing everything he can to get this man to Dallas right now.

yet if he wants out, they won't let him coach somewhere else without a HUGE amount of compensation and picks.

Is Payton worth all that extra money to get him here plus let MM go and pay MM his contract owed.

i don't think SP is that type of better to go after him.. you owe you current HC plus draft picks and buyout to NOS etc

thats steep guys..SPP is better coach but not by that much, remember his team went 7-9 3 times in arow right with Brees, last few years while hes done great job not overachieving enough IMO.

I hope Dallas gets him just so people will stop acting like he's the savior of this franchise. Let's test that theory.

I think the organizational dysfunction at the Star is bigger than any head coach, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
