How are the 49ers so good with an overpaid, mediocre QB?

I'm not absolving him of anything. He is often part of the problem. My point is clearly he is not THE problem with the team. He plays more than well enough to win if the team were also championship caliber...which it clearly wasn't.

This team is not nearly good enough to win a playoff game if the QB produces zero TD's.

Special teams and defense won then the game last night.
Blocked FG and blocked punt-returned for a TD was 10 point swing, in a 13-10 game.

IMO they won against the Cowboys because their offense was way more consistent at every phase(except for converting drives from FGs to TDs) and their defense confused/stifled our offense.
They won the TOP big time in the first half, ran well, and could convert 3rd downs. If it wasn't for a terrible overthrow by Jimmy G in the 4th(?) that game was going to have a boring finish.

As well as they have done in their couple runs, ultimately it was and will be the QB play that cost(s) them the SB.

Worse, the GM has overrated the talent on the Dallas roster. The Niners also have a better head coach.

Honestly after the crap show defense we had last year did you honestly think we'd have won 12 games? SF can lean on their defense even against good teams, we can't yet. SF is an example why people say defenses win championships. Good defense and good run game can take you far.

Yes everyone overrated our offense.

49ers have a better defense and a better coach to use an average QB. JJ will have a cap it of 26,905,870 in 2022. Daks cap it will be $33.2 million in 2022. 10 million more than last year. It gets worse the following year. There is talk that the 49ers aren't willing to pay JJ that kind of money for a average qb. It wouldn't be smart to use that kind of cap money for an average QB

Rodgers needed to do more but he’s also a Super Bowl winner, multiple time MVP, and has been deep into the playoffs several times.

Our guy makes more money and has never done squat.

The 49ers came close to not even making the playoffs. It easily could have been the 49ers at home and the Cowboys playing today.

After today, your remaining QBs in the AFC will be Joe B, Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen. Could it be argued those are the three best young QBs in the AFC???
IN the NFC you have Jimmy avg G and Brady/Stafford. out of those 6 teams, 4 of the 6 are what I would put into the elite category, stafford is a nothc below that. So 66% of the remaining qbs are elite.....and by the time you are at the SB, you will likely have the remaining 2 qbs in the elite category.

Ive gone over this enough, but it is simple. In the last 20 or so years 80% of the SB winning team has an ELITE HOF level QB. FACT, not opinion, but you keep telling yourself it aint about the QB.

Dont point to one game, or one SB winner as your "Proof." Just think about what 80% means. It means that 20% of the time, the team wont have an elite level QB... and 20% isnt close to enough to make your point of it not being about the QB.

It’s a good team, sure. But we aren’t as strong in the trenches as we need to be. Especially the interior.
