I do not usually follow game day threads for non-Cowboys games except to deal with moderation issues, but I had several members request that I help keep the Cowboys comments that are flooding the rest of the site from infecting those threads, so I decided to enforce the no-Cowboys comments rule for those threads.

In doing so, some members of course could not help themselves but post the same thing we have all heard in thousands of other posts in hundreds of other threads (as if one uninfected thread was going to convince the Cowboys to do anything), so several members had to be banned from the threads.

On the bright side though, it looked like a lot of members had a lot of fun and enjoyed those threads a lot, which is something we as Cowboys fans all needed the first week after the Cowboys season ended.

Most importantly, this was one of the best playoffs weekends I can remember for watching great football games played by great teams. It sucks the Cowboys were not a part of it, but this weekend was amazing.

I would like to thank all of the members who followed the rules (even eventually) because you allowed me to spend more time watching the awesome games!

I would also like to thank the staff members who helped keep those threads on-topic and Cowboys-posts free!

This was a great weekend for football fans in general and I hope the teams you were rooting for won. We can only hope next week is half as good as the games played this weekend.

I hope everyone who posted in those threads and avoided Cowboys comments had a great time chatting in them!

Great weekend for football and IMHO the football talk in the playoff threads are way more enjoyable than most because it’s pure football talk. I have busy kid weekends but these threads make games more fun! I do this snd text my brothers, immersive experience

I think the best part was you did not have the normal ups and downs you would have for your favorite team because, at least for me, I was not attached to any of the teams so it made it easy to just appreciate the great plays by both teams in each game.

Agree! I have a son who is 9 and really into all the players. We both like Bills and Chiefs players so it was just us screaming as my wife and girls yelled at us. Just pure football joy on a game.

I loved it and I appreciate the mods for monitoring the threads. While I understand this is a Cowboys forum, it does get old when you want to discuss a particular playoff game (in the appropriate gameday thread) and it continually turns into Dak and/or Cowboys chatter.

Exactly! I had not thought of banning Cowboys posts in those threads (it was a LOT of work) but since several members asked for it we did it and it ended up making those threads a lot of fun.

I liked the rules

I also got banned yesterday because I forgot that we weren’t supposed to talk about the Cowboys.

My bad.

But I was still cool with the strict enforcement, because seriously, not everything needs to be about the Cowboys.

So ... what was the final tally on posters banned from the playoff threads? I got blocked from the Green Bay-San Fran for responding to a comment from a poster who said Jerry Jones would be looking for the next Deebo Samuel. I said he found his Donovan McNabb in Quincy Carter, and I got the hook.

You guys weren't playing, were you.

It's all good, dough. I always enjoy those game day threads. Helps pass the time away when watching the game with others - even online. :)

I accidentally didn't read the rules on one of the game threads and posted something that got me banned from one of them. My bad I didn't mean to do that and I appreciate the mods helping to keep the site clean.

I totally wasn’t expecting a no cowboys rule or be banned. I never even saw it say not to do it or be banned. I just saw the first few words to identify the game thread and jumped to the last comment. Before I knew it, I broke the rule. Don’t worry! I’ll live! I’m innocent! ;) ADD I have a doctor’s note.
