These playoffs have shown the Cowboys are not close to contenders

I completely disagree. We’re a left Guard, FS, and kicker away from being a top 3 team. That’s assuming Kearse, Gregory, Anger, and Schultz stay. I think we proved that when we played the Chiefs and they scored 19 points on us. We were the only team to hold them under 20 points and lose. We were missing some key pieces for that game and Chris Jones terrorized our interior linemen.

Teams that "have what it takes" just seem to have another gear when they the playoff come around.

Think about DQ and the D holding the Chiefs to 19 points then look at that stellar job Buffalo did against KC only giving up 42.

I disagree. Are the Packers contenders? Everyone here would say yes. We played the 49ers better than the Packers. THE GREAT Aaron Rodgers was basically shut down after that first drive. They had the ball more than we did but we had more points, more passing yards, more rushing yards, more first down and 9 more penalties. 49ers will beat the Rams. We barely lost to a SB caliber team. If we had played mistake free in the 2nd half we win that game, IMO.

So yes, I do think we was contenders this year. Next year who knows with all the uncertainty.

The media sure is quiet on how THE GREAT Aaron Rodgers choked for the 16th time in the playoffs. A generational QB should have more SBs than one.

No team plays everyone in the league. I know you were exaggerating, but the point remains. The better teams generally move on, and the lesser teams generally don't. That doesn't have to be magical to be true.

There are usually a a small group of teams that are good, a large amount of teams that are average, and a few that are bad. Some years there is a team or two that are amazing.

The cowboys were in that group that were good. There were no amazing teams this year.

The 49ers were better that day, but they are not better than the cowboys to where they would win 3 out of 3 or 5 out of 5 against them.

I still stick by the cowboys being contenders with a great team this year, they were just losers

They don’t have to be better in 3 out of 5, they just have to be better once. This isn’t MLB or NBA. The Cowboys contended until they didn’t. That’s always been the case in the NFL for every team. Coulda, shoulda, woulda; they didn’t.

I don’t.. Mostly bad blocking is what I’ve seen. Every offensive line is terrible.

Even the 9ers got manhandled at times and if anyone has been decent on the OL it’s them.
Agree with this.

I dont buy it.

The cowboys could have beat any team in the league with the players they have, so they are contenders.

The cowboys not stepping up when they needed to might be because they are losers as a team, but they were contenders.

The management put together a really good team.

Unless they show and actually get some W's in the post-season, they're not a "really good team." They're a decent team.

Do they have the potential to be more? Not unless they get their heads out of the backsides and prove it.

The remaining teams and compare them to Dallas.
-Better QBs except for Jimmy G
-Better recievers: Kupp, Diggs, Hill, Kelce, Deebo, Kittle, Chase >>>>>>>>>>>> CD Lamb, Amari
-Better RB: Mixon, Akers, Deebo, Singletary >>>>>>>> Zeke
-Better coaching: McDermott, McVay, Shanny, Taylor, Reid >>>>> Fat Mike
There is absolutely nothing that the Cowboys have over any of the remaining teams: Bills, Chiefs, 49ers, Rams, Bengals.
Nothing
When we beat up on teams or play close without getting behind, we can play. If it starts to go bad, it feels like people don’t have the same fight as some other teams do….like we don’t hate losing enough to fight. Irvin, Haley, aikman….Steve young, Brady, ray lewis……some people just have a different level of fight, some people care about discipline more than we did.

It’s a parity league. No team is that much better than the other. The league is built for teams to be equal and defenses to be bad.

What gets us is we paid guys who don’t perform in big moments and you’re probably right about coaching.

The Rams gave up the farm for Matt Stafford and in a big moment he stepped up and now they’re moving on.
MS is better than Dak, but did we really lose because of DAK? I've seen him enough to know what he is and isn't. Funny I saw someone say Dak was better than Josh Allen. Heck no. Josh is better. Even with that, I won't put that game on him. We have bigger issues.

All 32 teams are contenders! The team that excels at the end, is the one who wins the championship.

That is why they are losers like 31 other teams will be

I believe that our talent is over rated and media and fans alike but into it hook line and sinker

beyond that we are a stupid team with untimely penalties and a deteriorating offensive line and a regressing qb and washed up rb

What stands out to me is coaching , you can’t have 14 penalties in a game and two other things you can’t have success running the ball down people’s throats the way the 49ers did to Dallas and we have receivers they have to get targeted early and often .

Run defense plus getting all your targets involved in the passing game and if you have habitual penalty offenders number 52 & 94 take a seat on the bench a series or 2.

Every club has garbage teams in its division but you play the schedule . 12-5 plus 6-0 in division giving you the first round home game suggests in parity land football the Cowboys are not miles and miles away stranded in the desert . Year three should be make or break for MM and fixing some problems Will McClay & co.

No. Nonsense. Balderdash. Bull****.

Complete opposite. These playoffs prove just how razor thin the differences are, and how every play can be critical.

That's
the lesson of these playoffs.

Hes got a long list of asterisks.
Checked the records I couldn't find any * anywhere. I just see 10 SB's with 7 wins and 47 playoff games with 12 losses the only * are for all the records he holds if there were any.
