Back in 2011, the Cowboys were dead set "against throwing the ball to Dez Bryant in the red zone and during the second half of games, at least through the first 6 weeks of the season" and sporadically afterwards.

There was a concerted effort of explanations "the Cowboys were making back then when it comes to coming up with excuses for why Bryant didn't get more passes thrown his way. Jason Garrett said it was about Dez's conditioning and Jerry Jones pointed to Dez's lack of concentration, but that just wasn't enough to convince the masses that it makes sense to ignore a talented receiver at key moments in the game" back in 2011.

"It got so bad that Tony Romo started harping on the defenses that the Cowboys see in the red zone, complaining that opponents are keeping safeties on Bryant's side of the field to thwart them. Romo says that coverage dictates where the ball goes, so you can't possibly blame him for Bryant's lack of catches."

In other words, Romo couldn't "figure out" (read) opposing Defenses well enough to the point he stopped throwing the football to Dez during the second half of games and even in the red zone during games throughout that 2011 season. It got so bad that rumors started passing through the media of a conspiracy back then. I guess Dez forgot about that, and instead, wants us to believe Dak would best help himself by getting help from Romo about how to better read opposing Defenses?

:lmao::laugh::lmao:

I'm not doubting what he is saying. I'm just pointing out the posters who used to laugh and rip on Dez for everything he said now think he is a genius. Many people just want to see and hear what they want to see and hear.
Good point!

Dez couldn't even read defenses himself. So many times, Dez went one way while Romo threw to him in another spot. Who was right? Often we would see Dez arguing with Romo. All of a sudden, Dez is saying Dak should get help from Romo? This is beyond laughable. It's pure hate and stupidity, especially since Dez has the balls to post it on Twitter for everyone to read such crap. If Dez truly cared or respected Dak, he would have contacted Dak in private. Instead, he spewed his attack in public for everyone to see. Dez is an idiot. Always has been. Always will be.

I know that Dez felt like he was being helpful, but really just added one more thing that Dak haters are going to use in their "Dak sucks" narrative. And they'll use Dez words to say "See Dez doesn't believe that Dak is the guy and believe that he sucks just like we do."

They'll use his tweet to say "Dak isn't the guy and we'll never win a Super Bowl with him." Rather than "Dak still has potential and is a good QB, who can become a great one with a little more learning and development." The latter is how Dez meant for it to come across. But a lot are going to use his words to push the former agenda.

Dak just had the most productive season in Cowboys history and he should ask the the QB who is most famous for throwing game losing INT's, for tips?

I'm not saying Dak couldn't have played better, because he obviously could have, but if he's looking to contact a QB for tips on improving, I'd look to one that had more than 2 playoff wins, and didn't play like complete garbage in every playoff game, except for one.
Stats lol, how many Championships or lets just go with something simple like PLAYOFF wins have those stats brought us?

Not sure what the problem is with what Dez said, except he did it publicly I guess.

Dak clearly has a problem reading defenses and Romo was one of the best at dissecting them. Anyone who takes constructive criticism as an offense to the ego is letting their ego get in the way of improvement.

Parcells was on Romo constantly as an inexperienced player telling him he'd be NFL (not for long) in the league if he continued to play like he was up until the point came where Romo said, "Hey coach, I'm seeing it now."

And what did Romo's stats get the Cowboys or him being so called being able to read defenses so much better than Dak can get the Cowboys, besides only 2 playoff wins in his entire career?

Huh? What did you write? You lost me.

Dez shouldn't talk. So many times he and Romo were never on the same page. Many times, one would see Dez verbally fighting with Romo on the sidelines. Why is that?
Pretty much I said Dez wasn't a QB so he didn't need to see the field like Romo or Dak needs to you should know that. What he was saying was just facts. If Dak can't handle it he shouldn't be QB for the Cowboys.
