1 -2 aren't even a reality or possibility the draft this year is not full of qbs and we already paid dak so that out for 2..we already are in process of #3 so this post isn't aging well. unless you are talking 2024 then sure replace dak if its possible draft guy in 2023

This thread is satire. Most on here understand that option 3 is the only option. Option 1 and 2 are unrealistic, but you still have people on this forum thinking 1 and 2 can be done.

correct it can not..like maid revisit 2023 offseason maybe a plan for backup like Love and lance for the other teams mentioned. just in case you grab a backup for possible future starter., this draft way short of those guys unless you get lucky.

If we were drafting top 5 I’d be all for option 1 but we are not. This is what I was begging for before we signed Dak but that ship has sailed. Now inky option is 3 but that can only succeed if we get a real HC and OC in here

none of these things will happen realistically so it will be more window dressing

just because it's real doesn't make it right
Reality is reality
Solutions must be based in some reality
Dak is the QB and that’s not changing anytime soon and actually can’t change
Jerry is the owner and that’s not changing till he dies
Solution to making this team better have to include those realities

If I'm Jerry I do none of the above:
Round one: draft a tall fast tight end who can't block and has had problems passing drug tests.
Round two: draft a linebacker who blew out his knee late in the season.

High fives with Steven and Mike, whiskeys all around.

You are now Jerry Jones. You get to choose between these 3 options. Which one are you choosing?

1. Draft a QB? You spend every available resource moving up in the draft to get your guy... that blue chip QB. You hope we luck into a Mahomes type QB. You know the chances of getting an elite QB is extremely low but you believe we can't win a Super Bowl without one. You're willing to do this every 4 years until we find "that guy". I say every 4th year because we will be giving up future draft picks (plus we will need a couple years to see if the guy we drafted is any good).

2. Sign a FA QB? These guys don't come around often and are usually older QBs at the end of their careers. You might get one that still has some gas left in the tank (Russell Wilson/Matt Stafford). Most of them will probably require a stacked team around them to make any noise in the playoffs. They will more than likely come with a hefty price tag. These guys also tend to pick teams that they think are a QB away from winning it all (which makes it even more difficult getting a very good/elite one).

3. Build an elite team around Dak? You go the 49er/Titan route. You build out the trenches. You need an elite defensive line, offensive line, and a strong run game to win it all with a mid tier QB. You hope Dak improves with age. You get coaches in here that know his limitation's and schemes around his strengths. The downside of this is it could end up similar to the Romo years with a lot of talent wasted and a couple playoff wins.

None of those...get the Cowboys the very best defensive line in this upcoming draft...and pay for it all.

This isn't hard.
1). Replenish the O line before it gets even worse. remember how long Romo had to pull off Houdini moves because the O line was lacking?
2). Regardless of feelings, loyalty and salary, get a handful of RBs that don't have ligament damage and who can run 20-30 times a game, even if it's a pile of players.
3). Get a OC or light a fire under Moore to utilize the run game.
4). Get a legit fatty at 1 technique and another solid S.
When you mentioned 4 it got me thinking about that last Bengals game. You had NT DJ Reader causing all kinds problems up front and then there safety Bates made a play that lead to them getting points on the very first play of the game.

1. Always be drafting and developing players including the most important and expensive position.
2. No reason to sign another QB while also paying Dak, you can not afford 2 high priced guys.
3. You should always be trying to build an elite team around any QB.
agreed.

Dak is here to stay, everyone has to realize this as Jerry is never going to admit he was wrong on Dak, the only true option at this point is get a coach that plays and game plans to Dak's strengths, kind of like what Josh McDaniel's did with Tebow. The talent level around Dak is very good and there isn't any top Offensive players or Defensive players signing at league minimums just to play for Jerry. Cowboys would draft a Josh Allen or Rodgers type even if they were available to pick, Dallas isn't picking any player to challenge Dak and hurt his feelings, that's not the Jerry way.

It was John Fox with Tebow, Mcdaniels was fired right after drafting him

Option # 1 and 2 are pretty much mandatory.

Option # 3 has been done with 1 playoff win the end result.

As our GM is a drunken oilman billionaire, option # 1 or 2 will not even be considered..........he will just blame and fire MM after season 22 and life goes on.

At this point building around Dak is the only choice we have!
