Tony took the field when he was ready. It ended with a botched snap. I bet Tony doesn't go to Cabo if Bill was there.
I guess mid season after the whole world turned on bledsloe was plenty of time for Tony to learn from the masters.

You can talk this nonsense l you want. I know from 2003-2006 that was a team you could be proud of whether they were talented or not. We had a real leader. I remember Parcells getting in Sean Paytons *** on the sideline. Meanwhile MM says nothing to Nolan. Garrett never said anything to another coach. Where's the leadership? But I see what type of stuff you're on right now so don't bother responding. Enjoy MM and the next sissy we hire. Atleast if you're going to be a passive coach, be creative. Smh

Sean Payton isn’t getting any younger if it doesn’t happen now it likely never will. I just don’t see it happening he’ll want too much control. He’s not going to come here to be a spectator on the sidelines.
He loves Dallas, loves Jerry and the entire Jones family.

Next off season is the now or never point, if MM is retained this year.

Help remind me what parcells won

so you don’t remember the Campo years? What Jerry did to that team before Parcells got here they were a complete dumpster fire. Then he builds them back to a playoff time, leaves them with a QB and a top tier offense. A coach with an actual plan fixed a mess that Jerry could never fix.

....I mean, had we won at least one playoff game with MM, I'd be ok lets keep rolling. The fact he was ousted 1st game is huge Red Flag.

The 49ers just beat the Packers and are one win away from getting to the super bowl. Not a MM defender by any stretch but losing to the 49ers is nothing to be ashamed of.

I also don't think Payton would put up with Jerry's games so he definitely would not come here. He is not used to being controlled that way. If he did hang it up with coaching, i see him taking the Jon Gruden route and going into broadcasting...get paid more than what he makes now and a lot less stress, with summer vacations. That's what i would do if i was him. Time to take it easy and more time for the family. Just ask Romo.

Face it folks, the Cowboys won't win anything so long as you have Jerry Jones calling the shots. Just sit back take another sip of your beer and lower expectations.

What kind of control? The Cowboys are pretty good at drafting and from what I see the value coaches input on personnel..what exactly do you think these "control coaches" want besides that?

The NFL has changed so much, and so have fans.
The fans and media who wanted to fire Jimmy Johnson and hang Jerry for what happened to Landry and that first season at 1-15 was close to 100%. Jimmy and Jerry were called the Beverly Hillbillies of the NFL. Even when trading Hershal Walker, most fans thought Jimmy was crazy to give up his best player for bums and a few draft picks.

I’m not a fan of big Mike, but I’d much rather dump Moore. He has shown us who he is and what he values, and it’s not a balanced attack or running the ball.

Can you imagine what today’s fans would be saying after the Cowboys had built a winning team under Tom Landry but couldn’t get past the Browns and Leroy Kelly? Then came 2 championship games lost to GB. How about Landry’s first Super Bowl where we played so poorly, we lost 16-13 despite having a roster with guys like Bob Hayes, tight end Mike Ditka and a secondary that consisted of Herb Adderley, Cliff Harris and Mel Renfro. We turned the ball over 4 times. It’s actually amazing that Landry lasted through most of a decade known as the talented team that couldn’t win the big one before finally getting 2 Lombardy trophies.

I’m not saying McCarthy doesn’t deserve to be fired, but in today’s NFL, we’d be asking what pictures is Landry using to blackmail the owner.

I think Payton will be the coach here someday.

I dont think that time is now.

Could be a year from now if he temporarily retires.

I heard Glazer bring up something about if Gayle Bensons steps down. That may make Payton go either way on coaching this season it sounds.

Then if we don't have a successful enough season in the next and Payton wants to come back to coaching and can choose then and there, then the stars could very well align.

I would rather keep Quinn and dump McCarthy.

I have seen enough to know that he has no clue on how to coach a team and is nothing more than a liability.

And what about Quinn’s time as a head coach makes you feel differently about him?
