These coaches come here knowing they can't win with Jones in charge. He offers them the BIG check and you really think they won't be a puppet for millions of dollars???? Jerry can hire all of us in here and offer millions. Who's going to turn it down??? So, until Jerry changes or leave it's going to be like this. So I guess we better get used to it:facepalm: Good coaches that can go somewhere else will. Nobody wanted McCarthy.
But Jerry can't buy Sean. Sean has other options.

The only reason Bill Parcells was allowed in the door was because Jerry wanted his new stadium built. And he knew to get it he would have to eat it for 3 or 4 years.

But as soon as the ink was dry on the new stadium deal Bill was gone.

You people just don't get it. People like Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett, and Mike McCarthy are all we're ever going to be allowed to have. Because they will tot the water for the Jones Cabal.

We'll never get back to an NFCCG the way things are.

My last game at AT&T was because my son-in-law wanted to go and bought tickets for my birthday.

I couldn't say no. So we went. And there was Michael Irvin up on the jumbotron rooting the fans on.

I thought..........Michael Irvin? That was 25 years ago. How odd. But that is where this franchise is.

Of course he should stay. The roster and team have improved. The expectations around here seem far fetched considering where this team was a year ago. Firing a coach who went 12-5 in his second season and putting the unknown back in Jerry’s hands?? Sounds like fools gold.

Payton has 3 or more years left on his contract. We'd have to send a high draft pick or 2 for this scenario. Zimmer couldn't win in Minny so I'd be leery of him. I think if I made a change I'd do Quinn. And get rid of Moore and a few other coaches. I'd love Norton back here as a linebacker coach. Bring in Darren Woodson as a secondary coach if he wants it.
how about them Dak for Payton we solve 2 issues with one move:)

I think hopefully McCarthy will start weeding the team out of the always injured players and quitters. Guys who shrink in the big game occasions. What I'm going to watch is to see who he cuts and what type of new Free agent guys he brings in. That's of course if Jerry let's him. I also hope Dallas bring in the fattest guys they can find out there for center-Oline guard and defensive tackle. Looking at the playoff teams -at least by eye alone. Dallas looks so small. We have these guys with well chiseled stomachs. Like they wanting to be on a playgirl calendar. I want some guys with two stomachs hanging out. And get me some guys with an edge. We have NO guys with an edge on this team. They all seem to want to be perfect like an old 50 type serial show. I want some guys in here that want to destroy somebody. Hopefully on the other side of the ball and in practice. It's just so much that needs changing in Dallas to turn this mess around. My 26 year fear? Jerry isn't going to do it. I really believe he's so comfortable doing what he does-he can't change. I 'll say it guys. We need to change the whole organization from top to bottom to turn this mess around. Not going to happen- so you guys do the math. If not Quinn or Payton. McCarthy is the man.

And get rid of Garrett loyalists.

And draft players at their position, Not draft them then move them somewhere else. You know Jerry and company always think they are the sharpest pencil in the box. Yet they don't even have a point to write with:facepalm:

Mike McCarthy led the Cowboys from a 6-10 record to a 12-5 record and a home game in the playoffs.

Sean Payton led the Saints from a 12-4 record to a 9-8 record and missing out on the playoffs.

But let's fire McCarthy for Payton?
:facepalm::confused:o_O:huh:

It will be what Jerry wants it to be. His team.

Sean Payton is not working anywhere where he does not have control of his staff and which players play on his team. Sean knows how Jerry is and so you have to know he's not coming to Dallas. You can want him all you want but it's just not happening, folks. Understand this!

What team gives this all to the head coach? Dallas might be "family owned and operated" but every team in the NFL
has scouts and a GM and invites coaches input on player personnel.

Dallas does too.

I don't see this as an issue for Payton when the time comes.

I get it that you got to give him another year. Sure hate to lose Quinn though. And the players like him.

You must not understand how the Cowboys operate differently than most teams. Most teams are not owned and GM'ed by the same person. When the GM can't be fired, he is not accountable to anyone. That's not a good thing. A GM that isn't accountable to anyone is capable of interfering with how the HC would otherwise run his team. A GM like that can put coaching staff members in place that the HC has no power over. A GM like that will put players on the team that the HC doesn't want. Do not tell me every team operates this way because they do not. Sean Payton is aware of how Jerry interferes and does not want to work in an environment like that. You ask what team gives this all to the head coach. One example is the Patriots, Bill Belichick is in charge and the owner, Mr. Kraft does not interfere.
