Jerry won’t give up a draft pick for an HC and I don’t see Sean Payton coaching anyone in 2022 unless he decides to stay in New Orleans. It appears he’s looking to take a year off and recharge.

I agree, this doesn’t sound like negotiating tactics to get them to trade him, this sounds like he’s contemplating retirement

When Jerry says he’d sign any check to win a Super Bowl you do know he’s joking and not serious, right?

He’s put a lot of money into players. He just paid his QB $40 million per. He has to be serious about winning a championship to do that.

I dont see Jones sticking with McCarthy with Payton potentially available. Even if that availability comes at the cost of draft capital. Dont see Nola turning it down if he is just going to walk anyways. I dont know how much it would take. #24 would probably be the minimum, but I think Jones makes the bold move.

Payton is his best shot at winning it all in his lifetime, and he has a strong relationship with him. Word his Jones back chaneled to see how available he was late 2019, so Im guessing Payton was his first choice. I think he pays the price for him this year
I would love to have Payton be our coach. I don't want to give them a 1 2 or 3 though. I will give them a 4th this year and next if needed.

High as I go. Otherwise fire fat Mike and give it to Quinn.

The only chance of Payton leaving is if he decides to retire to take the position Aikman has. Otherwise he’s under contract in New Orleans and they’re ain’t no way Gayle is giving him up for a mere 1st round pick or 2!

A gut feeling that we’re going to give away picks for Payton?
And that Payton could work under Jerry?
Clear the room. There’s a giant release of gas imminent.

He has worked under Jones before. I don't see this as a negative.

Gut feeling.....We don't have the draft capital to spare for a 58 year old head coach that's on the verge of burnout.

There's no way I'm giving up draft capital for Payton. Draft picks are for players .
If Jerry wants him just buy out his contract.

Why is everyone so enamoured with Payton? What makes him special? His defenses have always sucked. He had Brees as his QB. One of the most accurate QBs ever.

I have a feeling this might happen as well. Jerry has wanted Payton for a long long time, and nearly hired him a few years ago but ended up having to stick with Garrett. Payton could be the guy to push the Cowboys over the hill of mediocrity. I wouldn’t even care if it costs a 1st

Jon Gruden won the Bucs a super bowl after they gave the Raiders draft picks to get him.

Payton is special. If a coach is worth it, it’s him.

I'd give a bag of chips and a used golf ball. He'd still have to overcome our FO and that's an absurd task to handle.
Working with Jerry is a challenge no doubt.
Hopefully Sean would have enough cred with Jerry like Parcells did.
They also have worked together before.
Maybe Jerry is finally getting desperate for a winner enough to trust someone he respects?
Probably just all a pipe dream

Your all missing the point. JJ loves Peyton so much he may get the hell out of the way (for the most part) and let him run the team. JJ aint getting any younger. There is no way in my opinion this team wins with McCarthy. It needs a new face. Someone who can coach, run an offense and get the most out of the QB. It isn't that hard.

When your O coordinator couldn't make adjustments to what defenses were doing, and your head coach couldn't adjust to penalties, for an entire season, you tell me if this team is going to win with less talent next year? The minute MM agreed to let KM stay as o coordinator he proved himself to be another puppet.

NFL coaching means everything. Yeah it may not work out with Peyton. But I'm jumping at that if it costs me a first. Its worth the risk to not be a joke every season. To finally maybe be taken seriously..
