Nothing

If he wants to come here a year later after retirement, then fine if Dallas falls short again. Payton and MM have basically identical post-season records with a future HOF QB. Do not give up draft picks…..

The man took a saints team last year with no QB for half a season almost to the playoffs. He also had Winston playing the best football of his life. MM lost dak the year before and folded. Jason Garret would have done the same.

Sean Peyton gets the most out of his players. And he can get the most out of your qb. Those are the two reasons were not playing still. Or we would be.

Jerry's pockets are deeeeeep. Just buy out his contract. Forget trading away the farm for him. We need to upgrade our Oline/Dline.

I always thought that a coach made all the difference. But as long as Jerry and Stephen are calling the shots this team will be cursed. Jerry will never allow a coach complete control of anything, including player or coaching personnel. There's a reason things have never been the same since Jimmy left. Payton knows Jerry too well to want to coach here...

Wonder what the NFL would think of Jerry making deals when his head coach is still under contract and Payton is still under contract. There is no opening in Dallas at the moment and Payton is under contract until 2024 , might be considered tampering and the NFL is not going to turn a blind eye to that. Coaches don't do this sort of thing anyways , they don't interview for a job that is filled.

Edit: if he wants any shot at Payton he needs to get rid of Big Mike like yesterday

Reading that Peyton has been noncommittal withe the Saints on their head coaching position for next year.

What would you give up ?

I would do a second round pick.

We need someone who can extract the talent from this offense and Dak.

He has a solid background, and one of the few Coaches Jerry would be comfortable with.

What to you guys/gals think ?
I wouldn't because Jerry is still here and Jerry produces an atmosphere of accepted failure. Peyton won't be able to overcome the culture of "Jerry's way". I think our best shot is to hold onto draft picks and hope we get a bunch more like Parsons who isn't buying into the no accountability, blame the refs culture.

Don’t forget Jerry would also have to pay an entire coaching staff not to coach. Sure. Jerry has money but he didn’t make it by paying people for nothing.
Wait what? Some of them on the field every week. :D

(Yes I know what you mean, but still)

Next year if we keep KM this year and stink it up for MM.

Payton wouldn’t come with Jerry picking his staff for him. I’ll tell you that much.

MM’s about tired of it, not helping Keelan look good anymore.

I would wait till next year if he takes a year off from coaching but he’s probably going to broadcasting, which he won’t come back from unless it’s $10 million + a year.

McCarthy is as good as gone. We've seen this script play out before.

He’s put a lot of money into players. He just paid his QB $40 million per. He has to be serious about winning a championship to do that.

He’s just taking from others to give to Dak.
Robbing Peter(other needed players) to pay Paul(Dak).
