If anyone is right it’s Glazer. Nice dream but it isn’t happening. I’m still concerned on what we’re going to do offensively next season.
I agree. Glazer is best in the business. He has been wrong before but he’s right 9 out of 10 times.

It's a pipe dream to think he's coming here. We are stuck with clowns that Jerrah hires for coaches. They prefer yes men to coaches who can actually take this team to the next level,

retirement, take the year off and then hes free to coach anywhere is my understanding. Am I wrong? Gets him out of his contract.

This is the very same question that I asked. Would Sean Payton really want to come back and work underneath Jerry Jones. I would be shocked if he actually took the Cowboys job at this point.

Fisher, who personally knows Jerry and has a great relationship with Jerry has repeated MANY times that Jerry loves Payton and Payton loves Jerry. All of you saying Payton would never want to work under Jerry have ZERO inside knowledge to back that up except your biases. Listen to people on the inside that know far more than us.

Good. If Jerry really wants SP as his head coach then what he should do is wait another year. Let Payton go to the TV booth for a year, get the itch to come back to coaching then Jerry can make him an offer. Give McCarthy one more year, a year that may be a down year anyway considering the schedule and the CAP.

I am not an advocate of hiring a coach who is considering retirement. We did that with Parcels and I never felt Parcels was the same coach for us as he had been with other teams.

Yea, because if I'm looking for reliable inside information I'm turning to Fisher.........

Hopefully this deads the wish fans have because the last thing any person or coach needs is to come to this dysfunctional organization....especially someone who's burnt out.

everything I hear come out of his mouth is accurate, and far more accurate then anyone on this board that has never spent 10 seconds in a room with Jerry Jones.

I think if he steps away it will be for tv and not another team but that article linked doesn’t say what the quote was. He never says anywhere it’s not to coach another team. It’s implied but he never says it and he only indirectly says it. It’s more about him switching his mind a lot.

It's 2030. 66 year old Sean Payton has been in a TV booth for 8 years, and some Cowboys fans still think there's a chance he's coming to work for Jerry.

man... if Jerruh isn't in the ground by then, I don't know what I'll do.

Lets see...I'm in NO and have full control, I dont have a QB..yet but have complete call on how to get one..if I dont no one will hold the record against me. I am feeling a little burnt out, maybe I go to the booth then check the NFL coaching scene. I am a legend here in NO.

I'm going to go to the booth and wait for the 12-5 HC of the most disfunctional franchise in sport history for the last 26 years to get the axe by the only sports owner in the world that has multiple radio and TV shows where he calls the shots for the team I'm expecting to win with. That owner will no doubt be fighting me every step of the way for anything that I want to do. I have 26 years proof and watched my own mentor not be able to change things there...

yup option b all day long.

Who wouldn’t love to see SP here? But in my own mind I keep coming back to this question: Why would he agree to come to Dallas if the Jones circus is allowed to spin “business as usual”.

When Payton was here with Parcells nearly two decades ago, Jerry wasn’t “in the weeds” as much as he is today because he was working on the “stayjum” and gave Parcells the latitude no HC has had since.

In fact, I would love to be convinced that a “real” NFL HC would be interested in this job despite the intrusion of the Jones’. I find it hard to believe that but maybe I could be convinced.

Just another way Jerry has ruined the Dallas Cowboys...

This could certainly be true but also would be leaked if he wanted to coach the Cowboys.

Reducing the Saints leverage in compensation talks with Dallas.

If you are Jerry, is Payton worth more than McCarthy and a 1st? Probably not. Dallas needs that first given it is their only top 40 pick.
But for an "R4"? Sure.
Where does the limit hit? R3?

Expect a lot of noise until it is fully settled.
But it does seem to me Payton could just take the TV deal and announce if that was settled.

To be honest going by what both coaches have done I cant see where one is worth any draft pick over the other....I'm open to anything i missed that changes that.

Jerry and the Cowboys need him. Payton doesn't need the Cowboys
Not really.
Payton obviously wants out of New Orleans given the cap/QB/talent issues.
He needs a team willing to help "buy him out" if he wants to coach elsewhere.
If he wants to do TV he could have already announced he was stepping down.
So there are obviously things to settle.

Dallas still has a top 10 coach if it appears that coach is toward the bottom of that top 10.
They are losing Quinn it seems but you have Zimmer, Fangio and Wink out there just waiting on an offer for the highest profile DC role in the sport.

A Fair take tbh.
Jerry legit loves Payton and has long wished he could have kept him post Bill Parcells.
But even with that preference hard to see the difference being high pick/s.
Especially if you don't want to fire Kellen Moore.
Payton has had some tough last second losses himself.
