It's so pathetic reading our fan base every offseason.

It's always the coaches.

They have no idea what they're talking about and now they're pining for a guy they gleefully waved goodbye to years ago.

Other than an outright Jones sale of the franchise,
this is the best alternative Yes Man version of available coach to include fatty imo.

While it may be a short lived pairing it may at least accomplish a little discipline and accountability if but for only a couple of years.

IF a divisional playoff victory could be accomplished that is icing on the cake.

If your opinion is Fatty and Payton are the same then we differ on our Jones influenced soft version Yes Men coach options.

I believe the Payton model would be superior to the current one.

May NOT result in a trophy but I believe there would be signs of obvious improvement and finally be worth watching.

But that's just me.

Everybody knows the rot is at the top. But the top isn't going anywhere.

So your options are:
1. make changes at the HC and hope against hope that is makes a difference or
2. Just accept nothing can change and have no hope for the future.

Some just choose option 1.

Yes, we should hire and fire head coaches every two years to give us hope. Based off of evaluations of fans. The same fans that told us Sean Payton wasn't fit to run our offense years ago but is now the team savior. Let's listen to these people. They have it all figured out.

Hire him, for the love of God. Then start working on a new list of HC candidates when you need it in two years.

Twiddling your thumbs waiting for Jerry to die and have Stephen take over isn't much of a plan either.

Pretending the problem is coaching because you can't fix the actual problem isn't much of a plan either.

Well then I guess it's completely hopeless. Because the actual problem is the Jones family. There is no solution.

Hey! How about those Bengals!

Sorry that I don't see the logic in if you can't fix the problem then it isn't actually the problem.

Ok. We know Jerry and Stephen are the problem

So what is the solution? Charlotte? Jerry Jr.? Sell the team?

Solutions need to be realistic given the circumstances. Otherwise, they are not solutions. The Jones family will not sell the franchise.

The solution isn't swapping head coaches out of boredom. That does nothing. It's literally rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

There is no other solution to a bad Owner and GM other than replacing that guy.

Drew Brees wasn't legendary on the Chargers. He was basically Jared Goff level. Payton made him legendary.

Drew Brees had injury issues with the Chargers. Either way, multiple QBs credit McCarthy with helping them elevate their game from everyone like Favre to Gannon, and reluctantly, Rodgers who McCarthy helped work on his mechanics with.

Brees' 2004 season was phenomenal.

I think you are correct. Perpetual mediocity and an occasional Wild Card win is all fans can hope for.

But many fans want higher hopes than that. They want Super Bowl glory to return. They may be extremely naive, but you can't stop them or blame them for hoping.

Coaching changes do that, even if it's a false hope

Why couldn't MM help Dak?
