The conversation is about Jimmy G. The other 4 QBs are wayyy better than Dak. Jimmy G seems to rise to the occasion. When healthy, he is a very good Qb. He basically beat Dak head to head on his Daks home field with a bad thumb on his throwing hand. The job of a Qb is to manage the game and lead the team to victory. Jimmy G does that on the big stages and sports a 4-1 playoff record. Dak is 1-3 in the playoffs, and was 1-5 against playoff teams this season not located in Philly. Dak is a paper tiger.

Jimmy G has a real good/physical team around him. He was only 11-19 for 132 yards and an INT last week and still won. He has a solid running game and a real good defense. The 49ers defense was ranked 3rd compared to 19th for the Cowboys. He came very close to throwing a pic-six last week to go along with his one INT. The 49ers gave up a lot to move up and draft Trey Lance to replace him. Go talk up Jimmy G somewhere else. If you would rather have him over Dak you’re really living in the moment. He wouldn’t stand a chance with the Cowboys and their OL and lack of running game. Our defense can only make stops when they get takeaways.

My preference prior to Dak's resigning was for the team to pursue winning just like the 49ers are doing now. But Dallas is now committed to a prolific passing offense with so much invested in the Qb and WRs. We are STILL trying to win the way we won in the 90's and it just doesn't work in this era.

I like how Jimmy G is playing simply managing drives and keeping the opposing offense off the field. Jimmy does not have the weapons at WR to conduct a passing attack and he also has had a bad thumb on his throwing hand the entire playoffs...... still winning and thats all that matters.

What was his old profile name?

I don’t know but he had to be here under another username/account. You can’t do anything on this board without creating an account/username first. A number of posters have been permanently banned from this board and create new accounts to get back on. They out themselves all the time by being new members and knowing way too much about certain posters and what goes on here. They use the excuse they were only reading the board and didn’t have an account previously which is BS. Lol

talk about an inflated ego. You really need to get over yourself. AND I have seen nothing that indicates your opinion is worth more than a bucket of warm spit.

I’m way more clued up than you. You didn’t realize you outed yourself as a permanently banned member who came back under a new account/username. Congratulations! lol

We don’t have the OL or coaching to win like we did in the 90s. We don’t have the defense and we’re not physical like our 90s teams. We have a pass happy offense that puts games on the shoulders of our QB. Say what you will about Jimmy G but he’s an average QB who is fortunate to be playing on a very good, well coached football team. If he’s allowed to manage games you can win with him but he’s not a dynamic QB. This is why the 49ers drafted Trey Lance. If you put the right team around Jimmy G he can have some success. We’ve seen average QBs win Super Bowls because they had great teams around them. He was flirting with danger last week against Green Bay with some of his throws that almost got picked. Fans are living in the moment with him and a few other QBs. They were living in the moment with Ryan Tannehill until he choked last Sunday.

Tell Jerry that....... he tries to recreate the triplets every 10 years. You can say what you want about Jimmy G, but he's got his team to 2 NFC championships. Tannehill is in the same class of QB as Dak.

There’s average QBs that have done the same thing having terrific teams around them. Those teams won in spite of their QBs. You’re lost if you think Dak is in the same class as Ryan Tannehill. lol If he was as good as Dak he would still be in Miami. He choked last Sunday. He had under 3300 yards passing this season with 12 TDs and 13 INTs. His career numbers aren’t even close to the numbers Dak puts up. Some of you are going way overboard with your dislike for Dak. No average QB is going to produce squat behind our OL and our lack of a running game. Tennessee had nine sacks last week against Cincinnati and still lost because of Tannehill.

You can’t count Goff as a first round value. His talent has shown he’s not as good as Dallas’s 4th round pick, and his contract make him an even worse asset. LA gave up extra to get the Lion to take Goff
Ok, but what do you think another team will give in a trade to Dallas for Dak?

Hmm….

Starting QBs are tough to quantify, I don’t think 2 firsts is quite enough. If I were Carolina, I’d offer 2 firsts, a third and a quality starter. Someone would like outbid with 3 firsts though

Don't forget the contract

inheriting 40 mil per year AND giving up 2 firsts (depending on when those 1sts are) might be planty

But that’s why he’s so valuable, he has a great contract for teams trading for him!

Of his 160m$ over 4 years, 66m$ of it was signing bonus required to be paid by Dallas within 30 days of signing the deal. His new team doesn’t need to pay him that twice. That prorated to 16.5m$ per year of the 40m$ in his total.

That means any team that trades for Dak will only inherit a cap hit of 24.5m$ per year, a PHENOMENAL deal for a pro bowl caliber QB in 2022.

I guss I would assume Dallas would absolutely expect any team taking Dak to also assume allocated bonus cash....so 3/4 of the bonus....or close

This is moot anyway.
Dak is going nowhere

Dak is a paper tiger who feasts on bad teams and prevent defenses. He's not a winner. The team was 6-6 outside the NFC East and 1-5 against playoff teams not calling philly home. I can't beleive you can't see it.

He struggled against good teams this season but that wasn’t the case in previous seasons or he wouldn’t have been resigned. He has a number of quality wins on his résumé but not this season. Everyone is living in the now and Dak is taking the brunt of the fans frustration.

Dak has always struggled against good teams. You want to go back to 2019? Ok.. He against feasted on the NFC EAST going 5-1 in division. He was 3-7 against everyone else. He even struggled against the Bears. But Dak fans will just look at the score and say but he put up 24 points........ easy to forget 17 of them where in garbage time which circles back to my point that Dak feasts on the weak NFC East and prevent defenses.

His rookie year he beat Green Bay and Pittsburgh on the road and both those teams went 13-3 and ended up in conference title games. In 2018 he beat the Saints and they went 13-3. He beat Seattle in the playoffs that year. Those are just examples of some of the good teams he’s beaten in his 6 seasons. He just signed a new mega deal so you better pull for him or find a team with a QB you like.
