For those who say Dak was not the same for the rest of the 2021 season after his calf injury

We have seen Dak do this every year. He hits a patch of games outside the division and doesn't play well. It's just who he is. Watching that Kurt Warner breakdown tells a lot about the team and Dak.

Sure looks like Dak was not the one who changed for the worse...

No doubt that he wasn't solely responsible for the offensive struggles, but it doesn't take a whole lot of watching to see that he was missing on some passes that he was hitting on the first half of the season. And that's with decent protection and not counting the drops. He especially seemed to have problems with in-cutting routes. Hopefully, he gets it corrected because we need him to be the QB he was the first half of the season, just like we need Elliott to run better and the line to protect better.

Burrow won't see this.

He's busy getting ready to play in the AFC Championship Game after he doubled the amount of playoff wins Dak has lead the Cowboys to and it only took him 8 days to do it.

LOL....these Dak jock sniffers keep trying to prop up their hero and try to make him look like a winner or a diamond within all the crap.....no, he is part of the crap. Stats aren't needed to show me what my eyes saw....he is overwhelmed in big games and falls apart, just like the rest of the team. A franchise QB he is definitely not. Glad you brought up Burrow, he was dog meat most of the day and then drives his team at the end to kick the winning FG. Definition of a franchise QB. I don't really care for Burrow, but that is what i saw.

Jerry needs to stop paying folks big money, just do what New England did for years. Get rid of, and draft new because money always seem like an issue with any players we pay it to. Dak is staying according to Jerry, so instead of going back and forth on whether he sucks or not just to one up the next guy, solutions are what we need. And we can point to MM and Kellen Moore. Obviously based on reports, MM and Moore aren't hitting it off. MM not wanting to help Kellen out.

Well why would he need to help Kellen out if everyone thinks Kellen did a good job? So obviously most people think Kellen did a crappy job, so how do we fix this? Jerry needs to order MM to take over play calling and reduce KM to QBs coach, or just name in theory. I don't know why MM would sabotage himself or the team just to spite KM but who cares?

You are only making it worse for yourself when Dak fails again next year.
You're only making it worse for yourself by continuing to follow and complain about this team. Time to move on to another. Don't be afraid. You will feel better.

Dak held the ball way too long in the second part of the season because he didn’t trust what he was seeing. He made the OL look much worse than they were. I think he held the ball for 3.5 seconds and successful QB hold it for about 2.5 seconds.

Possibly. On some plays, yes. On others? Not so much. Everyone was off and not on the same page concerning the QB, TEs, RBs and WRs. Coaches included.

The record should be 6-5, shouldn't it?

Also, one of the complaints from some of us about Dak is that he has not been seeing the field and he has been holding the ball too long at times. If he is holding the ball too long then it would be a reason why pressures and sacks would be up. I think it was obvious that some of the sacks he took were his fault and not the fault of the offensive line.
Increased processing time is certainly part of it. Defenses stopped blitzing him so much after Denver and played more coverage (rushing four). The loss of Blake Jarwin and 12 personnel made it tougher to run and do play-action off of it. The running game was never the same after the loss of Jarwin. Kellen Moore inexplicably abandoned the run game in too many games. On film Prescott vacillates between holding the ball too long and checking down too soon...and the stiffer the competition the more it happens. He doesn't have a cannon for an arm and trying to beat Cover 4/3 deep becomes VERY difficult...especially with the type of pressure he faced against SF. The final long ball miss to Cedric Wilson illustrates this. Those shells are designed to eliminate the deep throw...and without a legitimate play action threat (hint...running game) it becomes even harder.

I think he was cognizant of the calf injury but I don't think it limited him physically. His rushes...

22 for 70 yds before injury
26 for 76 yds after injury

I'm sure the ankle and the calf probably are on his mind...but in the heat of the game I think instincts take over for a player...like the TD run he made vs. the 49ers. I think he might be more springy next year, now that he has a full season under his belt post injury. But I still don't think you will ever see him run like he did his rookie year. I do think that he is a guy who will always have to keep on top of his footwork because that is tied to accuracy. It was one of the knocks on him coming out of college. Ankle and calf injuries definitely don't help in that area.

While I do critique Prescott...I don't see him as a quarterback who can't get the team where it wants to go. With a bruising ground game he can certainly put up the numbers and the points. He can play clean and limit turnovers. Do that enough and good things will happen. Too many quarterbacks of far lesser stature have gone to a Super Bowl to think that Prescott can't. But the offensive philosophy of the team under Kellen Moore will sink the ship...because you can't look at this team down the stretch and think that Moore did all he could to make Prescott comfortable, spare his offensive line getting pummeled and properly utilize the skill players...or make timely adjustments to the defensive coordinators he faced. I don't see how he makes Prescott a better quarterback next year if he doesn't change his approach to the offense. It could result in McCarthy being fired.

There simply isn't any more time for him to "learn on the job" as it were.

He's an eagles troll disguising as a Cowboys fan simply here to hate on Dak and convince as many true fans to join him. He is destroying this forum of real fans from the inside out, and many are falling for his conniving ways.
This is a pathetic post. I guess you are going to label anybody that disagrees with you as an Eagles troll. It would be different if you was right, but your QB has been exposed and a large part of the fanbase has seen it.

A large part of the fanbase is absolutely wrong. Period.

I'm sure the OLine had something to do with the offensive struggles but there are two things that I did notice that was different about his play after the injury.
He wasn't as quick to escape the pocket and held the ball instead. That tells me he preferred to not scramble. And when he did escape, he wasn't as accurate throwing on the run as he was before the injury. If you go watch the NE game (last game before the injury), he made a lot of good plays on the move.
He wasn't as accurate throwing on the run after the injury.

I had the same injury and played basketball after I felt "fully healed". It was tricky because even though I felt fine before the game, the pain came and went during the game and affect my play. This went on until I stopped playing and let it rest for full 3 months not putting any stress on to it.

Here is his highlight from the NE game for reference.

When you pressured the most, sacked 3rd most and have your guys dropping balls all over the place...

You tend to have more turnovers. Ask Kyler.
You forgot also committing drive killing type penalties that puts you behind the chains and results in having to take risks...

Tony Romo sends his regards.

Bad things happen to your stats when you hold the ball too long
So throw the ball right away even if your receivers are not open or have finished running their designed routes, thus leading to incompletions or interceptions?

Got it.

Fixing the Oline will fix Dak
There in lies the problem, if fixing OL , having an elite runner and a set of top WRs are required for Dak to perform good , then he is not the answer , correct?

Like having a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning - Can mask several deficiencies and they could overcome them to put the team on championship path.

Because realistically in the salary cap era , no team can afford to spend on-one position without leaving holes in others.
