JJ broke me of thinking SB a long time ago. You know before the season starts, we’re not gonna win a SB.

No offense OP, and not entirely directed at you but am I the only one who reads these threads and immediately checks to see if the OP is new on this board?

The doom-n-gloom is off the charts. Imagine being fans of the Jets or Lions or Browns or several other teams. But IMHO, they’re amateurs. Because of our past success, the Super Bowls and the nickname, and all the money and hype, and because Cowboy fans get SO MUCH more venom and snark when they fall short, the last 26 years has been so much harder for Dallas fans. When you’ve been to the mountain top, the fall is harder.

The problem is our owner hates how he climed the mountain and has spen the last 26 years disproving his own success....thats not a common thing.

You can never say the future is bright as long as the Joneses own the team.

At most we can hope for is that we fluke one Super Bowl win in the next 20 years, but even that probably won't happen with how dumb the Jones family is.

I agree, don't think Moore is the answer. Would like to see MM give the power to run the offense, but that's probably not happening with Moore still here.

For me hope doesn't rest on other teams getting weaker. I have 0 faith in this QB winning any game of importance.

Let's give Dak a running game and you will see how much better he performs.

I am still stuck on the idea that a 33 year old Matt Stafford is "near the end".

I also like that despite the Cowboys certainly being worse next year than this year, that it is fine because other teams will as well even though what the Cowboys were this year was not good enough to win a 1st round playoff game. NFC West is therefore still 3 teams deep meaning you most certainly have to beat 1 of them to make it to a conference championship game.

Then there is also a lot of young unknown QBs in the NFC at the moment. Does Fields learn a throwing motion that is finally quicker than Usain Bolt's 100m? Do the Vikings stay healthy at key positions as they are a decent team that will not be getting worse (getting under the cap is easy for them as their key players are still signed)? The NFC South is very much an unknown. Remember the Bucs were able to go 7-9 with a QB who threw 30 INTs so even without Brady they are still very very good. The Saints will likely rebuild year, but could the Panthers make a move for one of the QBs? They have a lot of cap space (and even more if they can trade Darnold) so it is not out of the question and the rest of that team is pretty good?

Basically I do not know why one would be sure that the NFC teams are going to get worse when they are capable of being active in free agency and this year the Cowboys cannot and therefore will lose key players but a lot of the teams I listed will not.

I want our future to be bright because we get better not because other teams get worse. I want to beat these teams.. When we hit the playoffs I don’t want to see the normal one and done..

this is a team that won 12 games and the east.
majority of our roster and core players are under 30.
there are solid reasons to be optimistic about this team moving forward.
it's best football is ahead of'm.

i'll also add the last 2 drafts since mccarthy got here have been home runs.
no reason to think the 3rd won't be as well.
