He's built good rosters over the years. He's givin us travis frederick, tyron smith, zach martin, dlaw, micah parsons, tdiggs, sean lee, dak, zeke, all people that we have drafted just to name a few. Yes some dumb mistakes like not picking tj watt but for the most part he has did his part in building us a contending team. Now we just need a head coach that can take us over the top

How about you stop licking his boots and smelling his jock. Jerry has mishandled this team for 26 years and counting. At some point the Owner should retire to his ranch and hire a real football man GM.

A successful team is way more than a collection of talent. It’s a unified, cohesive culture and vision with subordinates in place that understand the mission and can implement it and are accountable for the results. That’s why Jerry is a failure as a GM - the last quarter century of results, or lack thereof, prove that.

I couldn't agree more... The problem is nobody is held accountable … Especially KM..... I don't have a problem with KM calling the plays... I do have a problem with Jerry not letting Mike take over calling plays when KM gets over his head...

The bigger problem I dont understand is that if your the HC and an Offensive guy and the young OC is struggling against a defense he doesnt have an answer for, Why are you not stepping in to help him? Football is like chess there is an answer for every move. You just need to be smart enough to see it than talented enough to overcome it. That did not happen this year

You know, actually I tend to agree in parts. I mean on his side he got us alot of talent. He got the right guys for picking drafts and MM wasnt exactly the worst decision for an HC. Quinn was also a very good choice.

To me his failiures lie elsewhere.

1. He created a culture of "softness" and some sort of "youtube influencer" mentality. We have alot of media affine guys but the real hard work in the trenches, the muddy side (which strengthens anyone involved) has been gone for a long time. I mean look at the infrastructure at the Star. It's all first class and imo over the top. Softens the players instead of injecting the grit into the culture and our game.

2. Way too loyal with his contracts. As I said before multiple times, I don't care what a player takes home. If we were in their situation, we'd also negotiate for the best deal. But Jerry really needs to be more careful with who he signs and resigns. I mean the Garret fiasco ain't the only thing. But the whole timeline with Dak was just not good if not to say stupid. I mean Jerry seems to be a good human being signing a non proven QB at that time to that deal, but imo it hurts the team. And he did so with quite a few other players.

3. Being a part of everything. Jerry, just shut the F up and let people do their work. Yes I know you wanna be a GM, but hire the right people and let them work. Especially the head coach needs to have all freedoms. I mean you and Jimmy couldn't get along and it went downhill soon after. Barry was just profiting from what Jimmy had built. But ever since no one seems to be able to work without you having a say each f**kin time.

So, I think we have one of the best owners as far as engagement goes and he loves football in his heart, you can see it. I love that. But he needs to step back and let real football people do the work. He has wasted alot of resources other teams couldn't even dream of. He threw more money away than other teams have as their whole budget.

I really don't care about the optimists on these boards here anymore, because after 25+ years of nothing, its Superbowl or bust. This 12-5 season was a joke, even though the stats say otherwise.

Jerry needs to win play off games again, anything but that is just a waste of time. If I were old I'd really worry about seeing another SB win in my life time right now.

Zach Martin? Jerry was the only one in the complex that wanted Johnny Manziel over Zach Martin...

Since our last SB run in the 1995 season, Jerry has hired 6 different head coaches, 7 different offensive coordinators, 8 different defensive coordinators, over 70 different assistant coaches, and somehow none of the people he’s hired have been able to take this team where 27 other NFL teams have been- at least to a conference championship. He thought Jason Garrett was worth keeping as a HC for a decade. That alone is an embarrassing indictment of his hiring abilities.

If Jerry had been the GM of any other NFL team, he would have been fired for lack of results several times over. Name an NFL team - even one- that given the chance would hire Jerry Jones as their GM. He’s a brilliant businessman who is certainly not a very good football man.

There's no denying, there have been periods where you could argue that he has the most talented roster in the league, but he has also created the most toxic culture in the league.
I would seriously argue your claim as the most talented roster. Pro Bowls are not reliable for that. Sure in 2007 we had a lot of Pro Bowlers but as the NEXT year proved that was a one year thing.

Never mentioned Pro Bowls, not sure where you got that narrative.

to me that makes a stronger case not weaker case. It showed me Jerry is not running around making picks on his own, that he will sit and listen to what others in the room are saying. I have heard that Jerry wants yes men and yet that is not the case.

It could be argued, but probably not successfully. They’ve certainly had talented rosters from time to time, but the most talented in the league is quite a leap. The fans and media proclaim it so it must be true, right? Not so.
