1200 yards in 6+ games isn’t great Lololol
If Dak, next year, has the same numbers as Jamies did this year through 6+ games and has the Cowboys at 5-2 you won't say a peep.

You remind me teenagers that like to be argumentized just for the sake of it.

No.

You just like to be argumentized like a teenager. I had that angsty phase too where I liked to take the opposite approach than others just to start a debate. I grew out of it though.

Why is everyone salivating over this guy? He's been to one super bowl in how many years? With one of the best quarterbacks in the league. What am I missing?

I laugh at people who say this, and laugh even harder at people who try to say Payton is the SAME as Fat Mac. Do you guys remember who Drew Brees was in San Diego? Do you remember that he WAS even in San Diego?? He only became who he was after he got to New Orleans UNDER one Sean Payton, so for those acting like Mccarthy and Payton are the exact same coach, look again...

Can someone explain the obsession with Sean Payton? He won 1 super bowl with Drew Brees at QB. MM won 1 super bowl with Aaron Rodgers. Someone hit me with the deets
Saints were the victims of some freak circumstances in the playoffs. Two that stick out are the Minnesota Miracle and the horrific non-call PI in the NFCCG against the rams. Saints beat the vikings if their safety doesn't close his eyes and dive at Diggs' legs and they win against the Rams if the refs make the right call.

Ill say this, if they arent going to pursue Payton then they need to come out and endorse McCarthy. The last thing we need is another lame duck 2019 Garrett season

Does anyone else think it's kind of weak for him to quit now that Jameis is his QB? Like he said he'd give it a shot but realized he's going to taint his legacy being stuck with a crap QB?

For me, it'll be telling if/when/where he comes back.

They are 70 million over the cap that’s probably another reason.

we aren’t giving up a first. That is outrageous.

Saints have zero leverage once they hire a new coach.
Actually it would cost way more than a 1st round pick or two for Gayle to agree to release him from those last 3 years.

Right. Drew Brees is only good due to Sean Peyton. I know people can be dumb, but I don't think you'd get 2 people out of 100 that would go with that. Drew Brees was deemed damaged goods in San Diego. That's why he didn't stay. They didn't think he could recover from the injury. It's not more complicated than that. Bottom line is both coaches, Fat Mike and Sean had top end QBs for a long period of time and reached one super bowl. If Sean reached 1 super bowl over what, 15 years with Brees? What am I to suspect him to do with Dak? Some miracle? I'd be quicker to trust a coach like Cowher, at least he got to 1 SB with a garbage QB.

If Payton isn't returning to coaching this year, it's actually really important for the upcoming season that Jerry now give Mike a firm endorsement. Otherwise, everyone knows he is a lame duck who's out of here at the first sign of failure. That's no good for the coaches, and the players. How are you going to allure free agents, new coaches if they know everyone here is essentially on a one year leash?

Because of their relationship and all the rumors, Jerry and Sean basically have to squash the rumors now--or prove them true. Basically we have to **** or get off the pot.

This isn’t reality TV, Jerry doesn’t have to come out and publicly state his mindset or gameplan for handling McMcarthy or luring in Payton.

If Jerry talks to the media and they ask him that he can be as specific or as vague as he wants.

Mike SHOULD be feeling heat. The NFL is a business, and you should be doing everything you can to improve your team and keep them competitive so you can keep your job. This talk of Jerry needing to come out and “endorse” Mike is what creates complacency in the first place.

That being said, it would be unfair to blame Mike for the team’s failures if he didn’t have full control of operations. Retaining Kellen Moore as OC seems like a Jerry move, not a Mike move.

It's not reality TV. It's corporate communications

He just went 9-8 with trash and injuries. He also lost a game two playoff games..one to go to the SB on egregious ref calls that were admitted mistakes. Way more than things whined in here. So yeah he’s done a lot more than we have in 26 years
